“The announcement of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) was made at the G20 summit last year in New Delhi. It has opened up many new promising perspectives. IMEC aims to become a cornerstone of global connectivity that would provide a robust framework for boosting trade and other flows across critical regions. Integrating innovative logistics and sustainable practices hold the potential to significantly contribute to both growth and resilience,” stated Dr S Jaishankar, Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in his keynote address at the session “India – Mediterranean the Way Forward: Creating Partnership for Future” of the CII India Mediterranean Business Conclave 2024 held today in New Delhi. Speaking at the session, Hon’ble Minister highlighted that “Energy cooperation is another crucial dimension. It is not just the Mediterranean region’s abundant oil and natural gas reserves, but also the vast potential of green hydrogen and green ammonia that today present new opportunities for collaboration.” I am happy to say that Indian business is already active in exploring that, he added.
