Do you recall when you first started journalling? Over the weekend, I came across my first journal Circa Y2000, when I was still in primary school I don't remember how I got started on it But I do remember this... I went on guilt-trips because ↳ I wasn't consistent ↳ I didn't write daily ↳ And that was considered "bad" But the strange thing is... Reading back on my journal entries... I didn't quite care if I wrote on it daily All that matters is I penned down my thoughts It even gave me insights on what mattered to me How many times do we judge ourselves? ↳ based on an ideal standard.. ↳ based on what others value.. ↳ based on what's popular.. Without actually listening to our own inner voice Some days, there just isn't much to write about As a result of my self-inflicted guilt trips.. I wrote entries...then I stopped.. The pattern was the same for a long while Until I was old enough to realise.. If this is an activity I enjoyed doing.. Maybe I shouldn't put so many rules around it When it comes to activities like these... It's better to just..go with the flow. Aren’t you tired of getting those cold DMs that simply spam you? Yet, I see so many people in my inbox Requesting for 10 minutes of my time When I read their message, it's clear to me COPY + PASTE They don't care about me, or what I do They just want to fix appointments and hit their KPI They're simply playing the numbers game I don't blame them. We're on LinkedIn for business However, a machine gun approach never helps It gets you nowhere, in fact People hate it Want better responses? Read their profile Engage with their posts Then, send a personalised invite. Yes, it may be slower... I used to think there were only 5 love languages Until I was hit with horrible back pain last month And couldn't move as freely as I used to I struggled to • Sit up • Lie down • Stand up And throughout this entire stress My father shared his go-to source for relief Homeopathy Medicine For context: My father firmly believes in it During his younger days It helped him where doctor's medicines failed And he became a big believer of this medicine My dad had all kinds of sicknesses as a kid Homeopathy, in my limited experience, takes time Sometimes, it makes the sickness worse Before you get better over time Those who've tried it might know.. So I've had my reservations about it My sister too, and she calls it "homeopathetic" 😅 Because we haven't quite bought into it I've even had arguments with him about it To me, all homeopathy pills • look the same • taste the same So it's hard to tell how it works Could it be a placebo effect? I don't know But you know what's the cutest thing? Despite knowing my disbelief in Homeopathy He found me the dose to help me relieve my pain And I took it with a smile Because at that moment, I knew this was his love language This is how he shows he really cares. Some might say this is an "act of service" Out of the 5 love language) But I think it goes beyond that This action is a potent mix of his ↳ History ↳ Personality ↳ Idiosyncrasy It's taken me a while to realise People show their love & appreciation differently ↳ Maybe it's a dad thing ↳ Maybe it's an asian thing ↳ Maybe it's a cultural thing And that's why I still take his homeopathy meds With lots of gratitude (even when I'm skeptical about it) What are some interesting love languages / idiosyncrasies you've noticed among your family, friends, or colleagues? Why are hospitals still using CD-ROMs? Today, we have ↳ Cloud storage ↳ Digital file transfer And yet, patient information is given out on CD-ROMs? I don't know much about data security. Could CD-ROMs be the safest alternative today? But what about the individual "user experience"? The CD-ROM ↳ Slows us down immensely ↳ Affects all who got rid of CD-Drive PCs ↳ Makes us buy / borrow external CD-Drives Plus.. I know the headache in "burning" a CD Drive (Some Gen Zs might not get that..it's ok) I'm lost. Why is it that an industry that has access to cutting-edge, life-saving technologies, is still stuck in the past when it comes to managing patient data? I'm sure there must be a good reason?
