🫨 Be honest: does another “coffee chat” or 1:1 posted on your calendar sound exhausting?
I love being social, but even I wince a bit at another 1:1 with a colleague when they are effectively a stranger. They just aren’t the best way to meet or get to know people.
- You’ve probably spent a good part of your day in a meeting room or on a video call already.
- You’ve probably asked the same “So, how was your vacation? Do anything fun?” already, and been met with the same generic answers.
✨ It's about getting people to share. Over the past 4 years, I’ve gotten to know people at every organization I’ve been at more meaningfully and with less effort by first getting to know them outside of meetings.
We’d all just ask and answer random questions, once a week in Slack, on our own time. What’s your favorite meal to cook? Ever been skiing?
🙌The thing is: you pick up on the little details of everyone you work with. And then when you do end up in a meeting, you have so many things to talk about! That’s the reason I wanted to build http://conveer.app
We launched last summer, and since then we’ve helped hundreds of teammates get to know one another! I think (of course 😆) a new year is the perfect time to connect with our colleagues.
🎉 If you have Slack, give http://conveer.app/ a try! It’s free, and it honestly makes the week a little more fun.

3moThat's awesome! I loved when you setup a daily question in our Slack. It was a fun little break each day and a great way to get that water cooler chat going between remote teams in different time zones!
