Today RBI has levied a fine of Rs 1.91 crore on Axis Bank for contravention of law and violation of regulatory guidelines and instructions! But it will hardly of any consequence on their misdeeds with customers! The despotic staff and management will continue unabated with their act of customer harassment. Bank will pay the fine by debit to its P&L and continue to function as it has been doing! MD/CEO salary /perk / bonus will undergo upward revision as hitherto as if they have no responsibilities for the detected lapses for which fine has been imposed by RBI. Unless fines are recovered from the slary of MD/CEO such fines are only regulatory show off to public without any tangible improvements in the functioning of banks!
Improve service quality! Train staff to be empathic to suffering customers! Do not follow unethical business practices! Your bank is black listed by customers!
