As we get ready for Saturday’s 8th Annual #SilentWalkAndRun, our Transformation and Sustainability team visited Ekurhuleni School for the Deaf in Katlehong to hand out food parcels to family members in need. Our commitment to social responsibility ensures that vulnerable and underserviced communities receive the assistance they need. This is one of the ways we play a small part in advancing lives in an inclusive way. Our partnership with the Neema Foundation for the Deaf is critical in raising awareness of the needs of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, which faces challenges due to lack of resources and the means to communicate their needs. As part of commemorating Deaf Awareness month, we invite you to come join us at Marks Park Sports Club, Emmarentia, Johannesburg, this coming Saturday (14 September) and participate in the walk or run to gain a better understanding of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community's daily lives.  The #SilentWalkAndRun2024 will also infuse the 30 years of South Africa’s democracy with the highlight of the language being recognised as the country’s 12th official language and encourage the hearing community to annually test the quality of hearing for early detection and intervention.   We hope to see you there. We are thrilled to announce that African Bank’s Audacious Rewards and Loyalty Programme was recognised as the Best Re-launched Loyalty Programme of the Year, last night at the South African Loyalty Awards held in Cape Town.   In just a little over a year, Audacious Rewards has demonstrated the audacity to believe in transformative success and offering rewards you can count on. These recognitions are a testament of our purpose to advance lives and speaks to our vision of being a bank for the people, by the people, serving the people.   In addition, Dr Nceba Hene, African Bank’s Head of Loyalty and Rewards won the Industry Talent of the Year Award, taking our tally to 2 prestigious awards last night.   A huge thank you to our incredible team and our loyal customers. Together, we’re redefining what rewards mean—rewards you can count on.     #AfricanBank #AudacityToBelieve #AudaciousRewards #RewardsYouCanCountOn 💙💚

We’re partnering with the Neema Foundation for the Deaf for the second year in a row for the #SilentWalkAndRun, taking place on the 14th of September. To commemorate Deaf Awareness Month and build up to the event, we held a Sign Language Masterclass where Africanbankers were taught the basics of sign language, which is the 12th official language of South Africa.   Our partnership with the Neema Foundation for the Deaf allows us to live out our purpose of a bank for the people, by the people, serving the people. Through this partnership, we can advance the lives of members of the deaf community. One of the goals of the #SilentWalkAndRun is to highlight the challenges faced by the community and demonstrate our commitment to working with the community by walking a mile in their shoes.   In addition, we introduced a CSR initiative. We’ll be handing out food parcels and holding a financial literacy class as we build up to the walk. To make banking easier for members of the deaf community, we launched a new WhatsApp chat bot to provide financial information for deaf people. Join us on the 14th of September at Marks Park. This week, we hosted the Africanbank Small Business Bootcamp, facilitated by 22 ON SLOANE, in Witbank, Mpumalanga, to provide business owners with invaluable insights into important business topics. Today, the small business owners applied the skills and knowledge gained over the week and pitched to the judges, displaying the strengths of their startups, and explaining how that R10 000 will help them boost their business. The day ended with a heartwarming graduation to commend the entrepreneurs that participated in the Enterprise and Supplier Development Programme. The Enterprise and Supplier Development Programme gives us an opportunity to empower small businesses and entrepreneurs. These businesses play a vital role in creating employment opportunities and offering services that cater to their target market’s needs.  Supporting small businesses that create employment and provide services in their communities is an important part of the sustainability lever of our Excelerate25 Strategy. #AudaciousEntrepreneurs #Entrepreneurship #ESD #22OnSloane #Africanbank #AudacityToBelieve
