On June 26, the state of Rhode Island enacted HB 7356 - Consumer PFAS Ban Act of 2024. The Act aims to phase out the uses of PFAS in covered products beginning January 1, 2025. On June 29, 2024, Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China published amendment to the China RoHS standard GB/T 26572-2011 Requirements of Concentration Limits for Certain Restricted Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products. The effective date is January 1, 2026. The amendment adds four phthalates DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP in the restricted substances of electrical and electronic products. The testing standards should refer to GB/T 39560 series. In this regard, the China RoHS standard is gradually aligning with EU RoHS regulations.
