For years, the myth that July 5th is the busiest day of the year for stray intakes has existed in the animal welfare industry. Data shows, however, that this isn’t actually the case. In her recent blog for The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement, Dr. Emily Weiss suggests something powerful: That we use this as an opportunity to “pull up and remember that no matter how much we feel something to be true, the data matters.”
