Healthy soils are vital for thriving ecosystems, climate regulation, food production, and clean water. Yet, it's been reported that 75% of our soils are already degraded, affecting 3.2 billion people. If we don’t act now, this could rise to 90% by 2050. Let’s work together to protect and restore our soils for a sustainable future!

On this #NationalWildlifeDay , it's worth remembering how closely trees and wildlife are connected. Healthy forests mean safe homes for animals, providing them with the food and shelter they need to survive. Each tree planted helps keep this balance and ensures wildlife can thrive. We can all make a difference, whether by planting trees, supporting conservation efforts, or spreading the word. It’s about doing our part to keep nature in balance and give wildlife a better chance. Let’s keep planting, protecting, and making a positive impact, one tree at a time. 🐾🌳

Reforestation 🤝 Community! Trees have a unique way of bringing people together, and remind us that we're all connected. Whether it’s a local tree-planting event, a community garden, or a school project, planting a tree becomes a shared experience that brings us all a little bit closer! These efforts create spaces where individuals can work side by side, share stories, and learn from each other. It’s a simple but powerful way to strengthen the community and build a sense of belonging. Every tree planted is a step towards a more resilient, connected, and thriving world. Give it up for the power of trees! 👏

Mangrove forests are true powerhouses for our planet—storing 10x more carbon than mature tropical forests, offering vital habitat for countless species, and serving as nature’s frontline defense for vulnerable communities against intensifying storms. We’re proud to work with over 100 organizations in the Global Mangrove Alliance, all committed to saving and restoring mangrove forests. Together, we’re aiming to stop mangrove loss, restore 50% of lost mangroves by 2030, and double the area of protected mangroves around the world. Every year, the Global Mangrove Alliance releases a report that shines a spotlight on the inspiring strides we’re making together, showcasing the innovative tools and frameworks that are driving our success. 🌍🌱 While we recommend digging into the report to gain a fuller picture of the status and importance of mangrove forests, we've covered 4 key takeaways you should know about: https://lnkd.in/g7ZiCaNQ

As we mark #WorldWaterWeek, it's a reminder that water is essential to life, yet increasingly threatened. 💧 From sustaining ecosystems to supporting communities, clean water is crucial for our planet's health. However, climate change, pollution, and overexploitation are putting this resource at risk. We’re doing our part by planting trees, which help keep our water clean. Trees act like natural filters, catching pollutants, reducing soil erosion, and improving the water quality in rivers and streams. Forests also play a big role in regulating water cycles, making sure both nature and communities have access to fresh water. This week, let’s reflect on the steps we can take to protect our water sources. Whether it's conserving water at home, supporting clean water initiatives, or advocating for sustainable practices, every action counts.

Palm oil is everywhere—it's in about half of the products we find at the supermarket. Over the years, the demand for palm oil has skyrocketed, with 79.53 million metric tons produced in 2023/2024. That’s a 2% increase from last year and makes up about 35% of the world’s vegetable oil. Palm oil is popular because it’s super productive and useful in many ways, playing a big part in food security and economic growth. But this widespread use comes at a price. Expanding palm oil plantations is a leading cause of deforestation and habitat loss, especially in tropical areas of Asia, Central America, and South America. Balancing the need for palm oil with protecting our environment is tricky. That’s why it’s more important than ever to push for sustainable practices that safeguard our planet while still meeting global needs. 🌱 #Sustainability #PalmOil #EnvironmentalImpact #Deforestation

Did you know that in 2022, agriculture accounted for 10% of the United States' greenhouse gas emissions? As climate change intensifies, the connection between how we produce our food and the climate crisis becomes impossible to ignore. The science is crystal clear: our farming practices are a major driver of climate change. To safeguard our planet, we need to cut emissions from this sector — and we need to do it now. 🌍

🌳 509,500 Trees Planted in Australia! 👏 This isn’t just about planting trees—it’s a community effort that’s creating local jobs in tourism, vegetation, and pest management. This project is part of the Yorke Peninsula’s 20-year Marna Banggara program, working to connect habitats, improve wildlife spaces, and boost the ecosystem’s resilience. One key beneficiary is the critically endangered Brush-tailed Bettong (Woylie), a small but crucial animal that helps with seed dispersal and soil health. By enhancing its habitat and linking it to other Woylies, we're giving this species a better chance to thrive. #Reforestation #Biodiversity #CommunitySupport #WildlifeConservation #Australia
