    BIGGEST SALES ONBOARDING MISTAKE Spending too much time in deep-dive-demo mode with new hires. Obviously it’s necessary to show the product to reps, but there’s a trap: Onboarding teams inevitably focus their reps on the product’s features. And you know what reps will do with their new-found understanding of the product? They’ll teach buyers about it exactly the same way. Instead, focus on who your reps will sell to and why those folks are interested in your product. Give your reps talk tracks about the value of your product. Or try certifying reps on using them appropriately during training calls. Never let feature-dumping consume your reps, before it consumes your deal.

    THE VALUE OF A VOICEMAIL Engaging buyers across multiple channels is more critical than ever. This means reaching out to buyers via phone, email, chat, SMS, social, and more. While you might rely heavily on a channel that your buyers prefer, data shows the impact that using two or more engagement channels can have. After analyzing 300 million cold calls, Gong Labs found that leaving voicemails increased average email reply rate from 2.73% to 5.87%.
