Let's raise a glass of Devils Creek Distillery to toast #BourbonHeritageMonth! #DISCUSMember Devils Creek Distillery offers a unique taste of adventure, located a remarkable 7,760 feet above sea level in Mammoth Lakes, California. John and Luan Mendel brought together their decades of experience and skills to join the burgeoning craft distilling movement in late 2015. The self-professed outdoor lovers have since produced an impressive lineup of California spirits that showcase the couple’s passion and craftsmanship. The Mendel family emphasizes the concept of Monozukuri, the art, science and craft of making things. Distiller Clayton Mendel implements this in every step of the distilling process – from selecting the finest grains to sourcing the best barrels. The family-owned distillery’s flagship spirit, California Straight Bourbon Whiskey, delivers floral and citrus notes along with a luxurious mouthfeel. Most recently the spirit won Platinum at the 2023 Fred Minnick’s ASCOT Awards. Celebrate Bourbon Heritage Month and try this award-winning spirit in a refreshing Blueberry Bourbon Smash cocktail, featuring a homemade mint simple syrup! Check out our Instagram post for the recipe. #EnjoyResponsibly #Bourbon #Whiskey #AmericanWhiskey #CraftDistillery #BourbonMonth

While Bourbon must be made of 51% corn, the other 49% of grains typically used are Rye, Wheat, Malted Barely and provide a dimension of flavors. The utilization of corn gives Bourbon its signature sweet corn aroma and maturing the spirit in new oak-charred barrels gives flavors of vanilla, coconut and sweet spice. #FactFriday #BourbonHeritageMonth 🥃

Let's raise a glass to our favorite time of the year - it's #BourbonHeritageMonth 🥃 Follow along as we celebrate the rich heritage and innovation behind America's native spirit. In 1964, Congress passed a resolution that officially recognized Bourbon “a distinctive product of the United States that is unlike other types of alcoholic beverages, whether foreign or domestic.” Ever since, Bourbon must be made in the U.S. in order to legally bear the name "Bourbon." #BourbonMonth
