ArkeaBio™ is proud to announce that we have been named a semi-finalist in the Agricultural Methane Reduction Challenge (AMRC), funded through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada/ Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada (AAFC). Congratulations to all other semi-finalists. The AMRC aims to drive technological advancements to reduce the 86% of agricultural methane emissions from enteric fermentation in the cattle sector, particularly in cow-calf operations, feedlots, and dairies. At ArkeaBio, we are solely focused on providing farmers with a vaccine-based solution to reduce methane emissions across all phases of cattle operations, an urgent need where limited viable options currently exist. #CdnAg #MethaneReduction

#EmergingInnovatorsChallenge Spotlight: ArkeaBio™ ArkeaBio is using $2.35 million in ERA funding to develop and test a novel vaccine targeting methane-producing bacteria in cattle to reduce methane generated in feed digestion. "ArkeaBio is pleased to have the support of Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) in our quest to develop a novel approach that reduces enteric methane emissions from ruminants. Our solution is ideally suited for use throughout all phases of the cattle life cycle, including extensive grazing systems. We look forward to integrating into Alberta's uniquely capable agricultural ecosystem to accelerate the development and commercialization of our methane reduction technology." - Colin South, CEO, ArkeaBio #ERAFunded #TIERfund

Kudos to the Government of Alberta for committing to building a diversified, lower carbon economy and investing in innovations that make significant advances in mitigating the expanding climate crisis. At ArkeaBio™ we are committed to reducing enteric methane emissions from cattle and with this substantial grant from Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA), we move closer to accelerating and commercializing our unique vaccine technology. #Alberta #ABTech #TIERfund
Our funding for the #EmergingInnovatorsChallenge will help 21 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) scale-up and grow their technology, helping to address the unique barriers to commercialization faced by smaller businesses. Supporting SMEs is not just a win for business owners, but for Albertans, too. Each project will be piloted, demonstrated, or deployed within Alberta. They will span across the province’s industrial sectors including power generation, agriculture, agri-food, forestry, oil and gas, fertilizer, construction, electricity distribution, and more. It’s a surefire way to create jobs and strengthen Alberta’s economy. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/g7tPJSDP Rebecca Schulz #TIERfund #ERAfunded
