Excellent article Brona McGovern and Pharmaceutical Journal Publications Only this week did I speak to a patient who had ordered a GLP1 agonist from a very well known company based on completion of an online form, no contact with a health care professional. The only human contact was with an administrator to confirm where to collect the product. Patient had booked a telephone appointment with me at the GP practice to “confirm it didn’t interact with her other medications” General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
I'm proud to announce that my article has been published on the front page of Pharmaceutical Journal Publications, where I urgently call for tighter regulations on the prescribing of semaglutide to patients for whom it is clinically inappropriate. In this critical piece, I delve into the serious risks posed by the current lack of oversight in prescribing practices. Patient safety is being compromised, yet no action is being taken. It's crucial that we raise awareness and advocate for the necessary changes from our regulatory bodies. I urge you to educate yourself on this issue by reading my article linked below and join me in demanding reform. https://lnkd.in/erXHNtyh
