We’re excited to announce three important recent additions to our engineering team and are delighted to welcome Ivan Gankevich, Guillaume THIOLLIERE & Iulian Barbu to Parity! Based in Berlin, Ivan has joined the incubation team to work on PolkaJAM, the Parity implementation of JAM, which in turn is a major Polkadot development project and a chief focus for Parity founder Gavin Wood. Besides distributed systems and overlay networks, Ivan enjoys hiking and technical writing. He has been employed as a tech lead at various companies, and before that did research in computer science and fluid dynamics at university. Guillaume lives in Seoul, and is joining as a Rust Programming Language developer. It’s very much a case of "welcome back" as this is Gui’s second stint at Parity - he previously worked for us between 2019 and 2022. During this break he developed an interest in AI and concepts around anchoring NFTs into the real world by linking them to uniquely identifiable objects that cannot be copied. Iulian, based in Bucharest, joins us as part of the SDK Node team. He has worked for more than five years as a software engineer in both open and closed source projects, covering topics such as machine learning pipelines using big data technologies, Solana smart contracts, container orchestration platforms and virtual machine monitors development. In his free time he enjoys hiking, running, traveling, visiting bookshops and seafood restaurants. We wish all three the very best of luck as they get stuck into building the great open-source technology shaping Polkadot and Web3 at large.

Parity's Rémy Le Berre is co-organizer of #BeyondTheChain, a series of London-based Polkadot events in small spaces attracting good crowds. The best thing about these free events is that people from outside the ecosystem feel encouraged to attend, both Web3 natives and some who haven't even started in blockchain yet. They leave with a better understanding about the people and processes involved in Polkadot and beyond. The most recent event introduced Tom Humber from Archisinal.io and Ben McMahon from Hydration, while Parity's Chrissy Hill was involved in a lively governance panel with some excellent audience interaction.
