Ingenious computing and immersive careers for the next generation. Delivered by Ukie and together with Nintendo UK.
About us
The not-for-profit Digital Schoolhouse programme, together with Nintendo UK, uses play-based learning to engage the next generation of pupils and teachers with the Computing curriculum. Digital Schoolhouse is delivered by the UK games industry trade body Ukie and is supported by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). Each Digital Schoolhouse is based in a school, college or university environment, and aims to work with a growing network of local primary and secondary teachers to deliver creative and cross-curricular computing lessons using play-based learning. Through this, it supports the Computing programme of study for the national curriculum in a way that leaves pupils and teachers feeling inspired about, and engaged with, computing and the wider creative digital industries. The workshops put theory into practice and help teachers embed it, with ongoing personalised support and continuing professional development (CPD). The programme has been accurately described as a ‘bridge between education and industry’.

🎊 After 2 wonderful years working at Ukie as part of the lovely Digital Schoolhouse team, I am taking a step back from the role to focus on Esports Youth Club full-time, the company that I co-founded with my two friends around 3 years ago! I'm super excited to be able to dedicate all of my energy into EYC, but will of course miss all of the team at Ukie. I'm heading to Gamescom with the team later this month so looking forward to seeing some familiar faces there before I depart. From September, if you'd like to catch up about all of the work and initiatives we've been delivering at Esports Youth Club my diary will be a little more available, so hit me up. 💯 If you'd like the opportunity to be part of the awesome Digital Schoolhouse programme and pick up where I've left off, then the job opportunity is here - don't sleep! 👇

📸 Take a look at some snaps from our first ever Playful Computing Conference, hosted at the University of Westminster. The conference covered four relevant subject streams throughout the day, filled with workshops, talks and masterclasses on the topics of AI in Education, Careers Education, Esports in Education and Game-based Learning. Alongside, we also had a range of wonderfully innovative exhibitors join us to engage with attendees throughout the day. The feedback from the event has been incredible, thank you to all of those who attended our first ever event of this kind. We hope that you are feeling inspired and empowered with new knowledge ahead of the new upcoming academic year. We are already looking forward to doing it all over again next year on Tuesday, 24th June 2025.
