Another big win for our casualty claims team! After a visitor fell down the stairs at their rental property, fingers were immediately pointed at our client for seemingly not following safety regulations by having a handrail in place. However, our investigation uncovered that it was in fact the claimant who had removed the handrail! This game-changing fact allowed us to successfully deny liability, with the claimant's legal team confirming they are no longer pursuing the case. This fantastic result saved our client just under £1 million! Congratulations to Mark Wookey from our casualty team for this outstanding result. We are incredibly proud of our team at GBB for their nomination for Claims Innovation of the Year - Outsourced Partner for the upcoming Insurance Post Claim and Fraud awards! The team is shortlisted for their groundbreaking research that shed new light on how low-speed impact events don’t always render a motorcycle “unroadworthy”. The research was instigated following an uptick in fraudulent motorcycle accidents, which has cost the industry over £27 million to date! The first of its kind, this research can save insurers millions of pounds and help tackle the epidemic of fraudulent motorcycle accidents. We have our fingers crossed 🤞 for our colleagues at GBB!
