    We are delighted to announce the extension of the partnership with the University of Cambridge for another three years, dedicated to furthering executive education, operational transformation and unlocking opportunities for emerging voices in sustainability leadership.    Through the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and other experts across the university’s network, nearly 500 leaders across Chanel have participated in bespoke programmes, bringing back sustainability insights and learnings to inform action across the House. The partnership has also enabled sustainable transformation across our value chain.    Alongside these initiatives, Chanel has funded bursary places for emerging sustainability leaders from diverse backgrounds, granting access to CISL’s Master’s programme.    Looking to the future, a continued focus on sustainability education, innovation and research is crucial to building a world where people, nature and business thrive together.

    For the third year in a row, CHANEL supports the Villa Medici Film Festival. This event highlighting the links between cinema and contemporary art sees CHANEL extend its links with cinematic creation, initiated at the start of the 20th century by Gabrielle Chanel. This year's programme invites spectators to see the work of pioneer directors and close friends of the House, such as Alice Rohrwacher and JR for their film “Allégorie citadine” or Wim Wenders and his film “Paris-Texas”, restored on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of its Palme d'Or with the support of CHANEL. Ambassadors and friends of the House Lucy Boynton, Nathalie Emmanuel, Alma Jodorowsky, Fotinì Peluso, JR, Alice Rohrwacher, Gaia Girace and Alba Rohrwacher were reunited on the occasion of the screening of the film.     A symbol of French cultural patrimony, the Grand Palais has been the privileged setting of CHANEL Haute Couture and Prêt-à-Porter shows since 2005 while the House has been its exclusive patron since 2018 and has supported its restoration and refurbishment project. Today, CHANEL is now reinforcing its commitment to the GrandPalaisRmn for a further five years through its endowment fund, with a new investment of thirty million euros destined to support the Grand Palais’ 2024-2028 artistic and cultural programme. CHANEL thus becomes a Grand Patron of the Grand Palais, a few weeks ahead of its Spring-Summer 2025 show, which will mark its return under the emblematic glass roof. “The Grand Palais is this incredible machine to create dreams. For us, it’s one of the places that embody the House of Chanel, in the same way as the Rue Cambon or the Place Vendôme,” says Bruno Pavlovsky, President of CHANEL Fashion. “We’re proud to continue our commitment to this important cultural player in the capital. The transformation of the Grand Palais will have a major impact on the influence of Paris and France. Like the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais will span the centuries.” “A century after it was built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, the Grand Palais is getting ready to unveil its former splendour, thanks to a restoration project led by thousands of ‘compagnons’ and highly skilled construction workers,” explains Didier Fusillier, President of the GrandPalaisRmn. “Under its reseda-green metal framework and walls painted a delicate cream white, the Grand Palais, now adapted to today's challenges of conservancy and operation, is preparing to open a new chapter in its history. An innovative program will embrace the fine arts, contemporary art, festivities and live entertainment. We’re delighted that CHANEL is accompanying this artistic movement, in line with its investment in the restoration of the building.” This announcement comes just a few months after the inauguration of the entrance to the Nave, renamed “Gabrielle Chanel” in tribute to the founder of the House, and in presence of French President Emmanuel Macron in April 2024. Like its patronage of the Palais Galliera and the Opéra national de Paris, CHANEL's support of the Grand Palais is part of its ongoing commitment to promoting the cultural and artistic influence of Paris and its institutions.

    The film “ALLÉGORIE CITADINE” was presented at the 81st edition of the Venice International Film Festival. This cinematic tale written and directed by Alice Rohrwacher and JR inspired by Plato’s allegory of the cave was supported by CHANEL and continues the storytelling of “Retour à la caverne”, a large-scale project directed by JR in 2023 in collaboration with le19M and the Paris Opera, of which CHANEL is Major Patron. “ALLÉGORIE CITADINE” stars actress and House ambassador Lyna Khoudri playing the leading role in a costume designed by CHANEL and previously worn by Étoile dancer Amandine Albisson during her solo opening the “Chiroptera” show last November. By accompanying this film, CHANEL extends its links with dance and cinematic creation, initiated at the start of the 20th century by Gabrielle Chanel.
