BAJ Birmingham learner Bronia created this detailed piece for the Box with Lid Project on our Level 3 Jewellery Design and Manufacturing Diploma course 🎈💌 Bronia explained the process, saying: "I drew inspiration from Banksy’s Girl with Balloon Mural - an incredible series of stencil graffiti that pictures a small girl reaching out towards a red heart-shaped balloon. I wanted to portray the idea of the young girl letting go of the balloon in order for her to grow and move on. That is why I chose to pierce the design, creating negative space to show the balloon as it travels through the box to escape at the lid as her journey to emotional freedom develops. To create this piece I used long seam soldering to join the mitres, creating straight edges for the box, taking into consideration all of the techniques I have learnt during my time at BAJ."
