Rosanne Roberts is currently studying at Loughborough University and is with us as a Student Design Engineer during her third year placement. Rosanne is really proud of securing her placement at the Bristan Group Ltd as, prior to this, she had never been through the interview process. She must have impressed the interview team so congratulations 👏. She is looking forward to seeing the design process outside of the University environment. Courtney McAvoy has joined the Bristan Group Ltd as Regional Sales Manager for the North. She joins us with considerable experience in the construction industry and was instantly excited for the new role, knowing Bristan as market leaders with an exceptional reputation. Outside of work, one of Courtney's biggest achievements was running the Paris marathon 🏃♀️ a fantastic achievement. 👏 Finally, we welcome Lee Adkins (Tech IOSH) to the role of HSE and Facilities Manager. Lee brings with him over 20 years of experience from various industries including the railway sector, pharmaceuticals and engineering. Lee comments " I'm excited about the Bristan Group's mission and values and look forward to an exciting journey, where I hope to contribute to it's success." Lee will be responsible for continuing to deliver on our ESG aspirations at the Bristan Group. Introducing our new Chief of Staff. 😀 Christina Charters, CSA has joined the Bristan Group Ltd team as our Chief of Staff to the Deputy CEO. Christina will be supporting Jen Cassidy transition into the CEO role and ensure that the leadership team are set to succeed. Her career has been predominantly in marketing and events agencies but latterly in operations within service-based businesses including leadership roles in operations and as a Chief of Staff at rev.space before joining the Bristan Group Ltd. A certified Chief of Staff with the Chief of Staff Association, Christina’s priorities are aligning the leadership team and executing the vision by ensuring we have the right strategy, operating system and people development practices. Her initial time at the Bristan Group has been conducting a listening tour with the leadership team and supporting the long-range planning process. She will continue to ensure that we are aligned and organised to serve our purpose. Christina comments " Joining the Bristan Group, collaborating with exceptional individuals, and supporting a remarkable female Deputy CEO energises me, and I feel fortunate and grateful for this opportunity. I am excited to connect with everyone on a deeper level over the coming months." Charity update incoming 📣 Looking back on our summer highlights, last month we all came together at the Bristan Group Ltd for a couple of hours to have some fun, eat delicious food, play a few games and do some hula hooping, all whilst raising money for our Corporate charity Mind. A total of £663 was raised which was money matched by our fantastic colleagues at the Masco Corporation a total of £1,326. This successful event has bought us within striking distance of our charity total of £7,200 for 2024. It's time for another book club review. 📚 Our Book Club here at the Bristan Group Ltd have been busy reading and reviewing The 5AM Club by Robin Sharma. The 5am Club follows the journey of four main characters: a struggling entrepreneur, an artist, a tycoon,and a mysterious guide. Through their interactions and the wisdom imparted by the guide, readers are introduced to the concept of waking up at 5AM to achieve personal and professional greatness. The novel is an interesting mix of fiction and self-help, intertwining narrative with actionable advice aimed at improving productivity and well-being. Our book clubbers were polarised by this book and it sparked some healthy discussions. 6 out of 11 members recommended it, and the score was ⭐⭐⭐ stars out of 5 reflecting the split in views. On a positive note, readers loved the powerful concepts and ideas on how rising early can enhance productivity and personal growth, they also like the impactful and memorable quotes peppered throughout the book and the engaging narrative which was a blend of storytelling and self-help elements making the book engaging and accessible. The group surmised that the 5AM Club is a thought-provoking and powerful read that can offer valuable insights and motivation, but its effectiveness and appeal may vary amongst readers. Whilst some may find this valuable if they are open to self-improvement, if you are sceptical about blending fiction and self-help, you might find it challenging to connect with the message. As always, we offer the books used in book club at a reduced rate to colleagues at the Bristan Group Ltd with the proceeds going to Mind.
