He's a strategy superhero, Aussie by birth, Londoner by choice, and the backbone of our 'happy accident' called Bray St. Born out of a detour during a supposed gap year in 2018, Bray St. came to life, bringing Daniel Dagher's 14 years of expertise in both private and government firms into play. While he's not the design or content maestro, he's the grandmaster of brand strategy, (but don't be fooled by that constant smile - it's his secret weapon 😉). It's the thing that surely annoys many people but keeps us going strong at Bray St. His off-duty? You'd find him cheering at the tennis, or yelling at the TV while watching the tennis (mad fan alert 🎾), or perhaps, busy matching his sunglasses (14 pairs, no less) or reading glasses (9 pairs and counting) with his outfits. Here's why internal comms is more than a company-wide email or worse... a singular poster at the end of a corridor. People talk about building companies and brands from the ground up, but we reckon the language needs to change. To build a successful brand, you need to build it from the inside outwards. Why? Because customers are savvy. They can see through anything that's inauthentic. They want to, and will, form an attachment to brands that genuinely share their same views and values. Enter internal communications. With a proper internal comms strategy in place, the goal of your communications is not just to inform your employees - it's to transform them into your most valuable brand ambassadors. There will be little more authentic than an employee living and breathing your brand values and then voluntarily and publicly extolling the benefits of your company. Brand reputation is the top business outcome companies expect to see from increased reporting on ESG (environmental, social and governance). This is according to a recent Deloitte study into ESG trends in 2024. But for anyone looking to focus on this outcome - make sure you back it up with real actions. 💪 If anyone gets even a whiff that your ESG efforts aren’t authentic, be warned.
