  • 5.9KM for Singapore’s 59th Birthday! Walking increases cardiovascular fitness and improves mental wellness. So, what better way to celebrate our nation’s birthday than with an added boost of positivity through a #TeamSLA walk! Our welfare committee, SaLsA’s recent call for participants to join a walkabout SLA’s office vicinity was met with enthusiastic responses from across SLA’s divisions. We came decked out in national colours for the event, which took us past SLA heritage properties, bustling shopping malls, and modern skyscrapers. The change of scenery along the way was a fitting snapshot of how far Singapore has come from its early days as a British colony - a visual reminder of our vision of #LimitedLandUnlimitedSpace to support Singapore’s continued progress. Majulah Singapura! 🇸🇬 #NDP2024 #NDP24 #SG59 #happybirthdaysingapore #FlyOurFlagSG

  • As we gear up for National Day this Friday, here are two key features on #OneMap for a safe and enjoyable celebration! 🇸🇬🎉 📍 Entry Points for #NDP2024: Heading to the National Day Parade? Simply scan the SLA OneMap QR code on your ticket and get access to the blue, green, and yellow entry points. This feature will help you find your way with ease and enjoy the festivities without any hassle. 🚫 No Flying of Unmanned Aircraft (UA): Working with the Singapore Police Force, we’ve added 2 data layers on No-Fly-Zones for UA, including drones on 9 August. These restrictions will be in 2 areas – the ‘Special Event Area’ around the Padang where there will be strict security measures to ensure public safety and security and the ‘Special Zone’ within the Special Event Area where enhanced security checks will be conducted. Do note that it’s also an offence to fly any UA outside of the Special Event Area in a manner that disrupts, interferes with, delays or obstructs the conduct of NDP 2024. Acesss OneMap via www.onemap.gov.sg or download the app from the iOS and Android store. #SG59 #NDP24

  • It's National Day Week and the Olympics! What better way to celebrate than to honour our very own Olympic hero, Joseph Schooling. 🇸🇬✨ Joseph made history by winning Singapore's first-ever Olympic gold medal in the 100m butterfly at the 2016 Rio Olympics, clocking an impressive 50.39 seconds! 🥇🏊♂️ His achievement was so inspiring that Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, called it "so impressive." We were thrilled to have Joseph at our recent #SLABrownBag session, where he shared his journey, insights into elite sports, and plans for the future. From training tips to handling pressure, Joseph's stories were truly eye-opening. Joseph's passion for giving back and his vision for the future of sports in Singapore inspire us all. We are immensely proud to call him our own. 💪🇸🇬

  • An insightful The Straits Times article presents views, perspectives, and emotions that can be evoked when unmasking the colonial past, often through the heritage of colonial-era buildings. Many of the surviving heritage bungalows were returned to the State, featuring various styles and designs unique to Singapore. They have since been repurposed and adapted, where suitable, for F&B, lifestyle, and retail uses. Steeped in nostalgia, their rustic, old-world charm continues to appeal. Among these properties, the row of heritage bungalows at 31, 31A, and 33 Scotts Road within the orchard vicinity presents an opportunity to make new history befitting modern times. If you are interested in shaping the future of a piece of Singapore’s built heritage, review the listing at https://lnkd.in/gZKVsDVG. Tender closes 7 Aug 11 AM. #AdaptiveReuse #LimitedLandUnlimitedSpace

🇸🇬The SLA office was a sea of red and white this week at our National Day Observance ceremony, where we honoured our National Day Award winners and Long Service Award recipients "Together, as One United People". Amidst the patriotic colours, there were also hues of green as we also celebrated Sustainability Day! 🌍 At SLA, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword - we are fully committed to creating a greener future, from the adaptive reuse of State properties to utilising geospatial technology to mitigate climate change. 🌿Staff enjoyed a variety of entertaining games that educated on all things green, such as learning how to recycle properly and the scarcity of water in Singapore. Vendors were also on site to showcase their eco-friendly products and services—thank you the moonbeam co., Avogrow, Wateroam, Semula Pte Ltd, City Sprouts, and Vidacity for joining us! 💪🏼 As we mark another year of national unity and resilience, our work for a sustainable future continues year-round. Here’s to a greener and better Singapore! #NationalDay2024 #TogetherAsOne #LifeinSLA #CorporateCulture

He also reminded the scholars of their role in advocating ‘Sustainability for Good’ for a greener future and urged them to find ways to harness the transformative potential of ‘Geospatial and Technology for Good’ to support Singapore’s strategic needs. The presentation of these scholarships symbolises SLA’s unwavering commitment to nurturing early talents and empowering the next generation.
