Happy 59th Birthday Singapore! Today, Sentosa Development Corporation colleagues came together to celebrate the nation’s birthday in advance, with a heartwarming National Day observance ceremony. This year's National Day theme, 'Together, As One United People', resonates deeply with all of us at SDC. It calls upon Singaporeans to stand together, united as one, and move forward with confidence in building our shared future. Across diverse teams and businesses on the island, each and every #Sentosian plays a crucial role in contributing towards the common goal of delivering a world-class #OneSentosa experience to our guests. Siloso Beach is now reopened! Following the tireless efforts of our cleaning workers, dedicated volunteers, oil spill response specialists and many others, swimming and water activities such as kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding offered by Ola Beach Club and Shangri-La Singapore Rasa Sentosa, are now made available for our guests. We also took the opportunity to organise a thank you dinner and a Wings of Time show for our cleaning workers, as a gesture of our appreciation for their hard work, which has been key in restoring the beauty of our beaches. With Siloso leading the way, both Palawan and Tanjong Beach will be reopening for swimming and all sea activities by mid-August. In celebration of this monumental milestone, guests can enjoy a delightful array of promotions across dining, accommodation, and attractions, across our beaches all available till 31 August. Let's come together to celebrate and enjoy the golden sands of Sentosa once more!

Durian lovers in Sentosa Development Corporation had certainly enjoyed themselves at the recent Durian Party, organised by the Sentosa Recreational Club! The event featured a delightful variety of durian species, from the renowned Musang King and D24 to the exquisite Red Prawn, allowing everyone to savour the spectrum of the durian kingdom. It was a fantastic opportunity for Sentosians to recharge, connect, and indulge in the king of fruits amidst the waves and coastal breeze at the Siloso beachfront. Thank you to the Sentosa Recreational Club for making this event possible, reinforcing our commitment to creating a supportive and enjoyable work environment, and providing unique experiences that make Sentosa a truly special place to work. On Sunday 28 July, we successfully completed our final volunteer cleanup session at Siloso Beach. Sentosa Development Corporation, together with our passionate volunteers, came together as a community to take part in six clean-up sessions, in light of the recent oil spill. A total of 450 volunteers from various groups, including Minister Grace Fu, Minister of State Alvin Tan, who led the first cleanup session, our Sentosa Islander members, Island Partners, Singapore Canoe Federation, National Parks Board, and many more have gone above and beyond, helping remove residual tar balls and marine debris to restore our shoreline. Thank you to all who dedicated their time to making our sands safe and beautiful for everyone to enjoy once again. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to your efforts, which have brought us a huge step closer to fully restoring our pristine beaches. At the Singapore MICE Forum 2024 organised by Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS), our Assistant Chief Executive, Cheh Hsien Lee, shared on Sentosa Development Corporation’s journey towards green MICE, including the ways we have increased value to guests and continue to support this momentum through upskilling of staff on the island.    Sustainability has always been a key tenet for SDC, and we are proud to continue collaborating with industry partners, such as SACEOS and Singapore Tourism Board on Singapore’s MICE Sustainability Roadmap, while also equipping our MICE team with the necessary capabilities to engage organisers in planning green events on Sentosa.   As we continue to make strides on our #SustainableSentosa journey, we encourage all, both organisers and guests, to explore our diverse offerings, including low-carbon leisure experiences, farm-to-table gourmet offerings, and sustainability-themed SentoSights tours that will allow guests to uncover hidden gems on the island.   #Sentosa #DiscoveryNeverEnds

Today marks a significant milestone for Sentosa Development Corporation with the signing of a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTUC LearningHub, supported by Resorts World Sentosa. Graced by Guest-of-Honour, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Culture, Community and Youth Alvin Tan, the MoU marks a significant step in Sentosa’s commitment to empower workers on Sentosa through strategic upskilling initiatives. As part of the MoU, we will be launching the One Sentosa Transformation and Equipping Platform (1-STEP), a skills and transformation initiative aimed at providing specialised programmes for approximately 15,000 workers on Sentosa. The focus will be on areas critical to the future of tourism including customer experience, sustainability, wellness and artificial intelligence. This valuable partnership comes off the back of Singapore Tourism Board’s broader efforts to boost employability within the tourism sector.
