Peak Energy is excited to announce this agreement with Shinsung Solar for developing 50MW of solar projects in South Korea. Our CEO Gavin Adda and Shinsung's VP of renewables Su-ok Choi said it best. Together, we are committed to Korea and focused on supporting the country's domestic solar energy market. This agreement will enable us to continue to support the nations goals of providing affordable clean energy to consumers and #RE100 members. https://lnkd.in/gW64zgTN

Peak Energy is honored to partner with Digital Edge DC in their vision to power their data centers with clean energy. Our agreement ensures we will collaborate on providing an initial 500MW of renewable energy throughout Asia. This is the equivalent of the carbon captured by over nineteen million trees annually or removing two hundred and sixteen thousand cars from the road. Thank you again to the Digital Edge DC team. We look forward to ensuring Asia's thirst for technology and data are powered by renewable energy! https://lnkd.in/gUVs8Hv8

Encouraging news on this Earth Day. But there is a lot of work to do. Southeast Asia seems extremely close to reaching goals of producing 35% of its energy needs from clean sources. Yet only 3% of today's projects are in construction. Here's to hoping governments and industry can work together to meet these milestones.
Wishing everyone a happy Earth Day! Despite some setbacks throughout the region, we continue to see Southeast Asia continue to expand its production of renewable energy. The ASEAN region currently has 28 gigawatt (GW) of large utility-scale solar and wind power in operation. While these numbers are impressive, they point to the need for an additional 17GW needed of production needed in order to reach 2025's goals. These and more details can be found in Global Energy Monitor's recent report found below. While we officially celebrate Earth Day once a year, we hope governments and companies alike can continue to work on powering the future with clean energy.
