OCBC One Connect is our flagship business platform that leverages our strong regional presence to connect businesses across ASEAN and Greater China, fostering partnerships and helping businesses accelerate their growth. At a recent event, over 50 businesses and partners from Hong Kong and Singapore gathered to explore new opportunities in Property Technology (PropTech) and Construction Technology (ConTech), with a focus on green innovation, digital solutions, and sustainability. PropTech combines real estate and technology, driving advancements in how we build and manage spaces. Similarly, ConTech enables advanced engineering innovations that enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability in construction. This exclusive event was led by OCBC and supported by HKSTP - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, whose mission is to build Hong Kong’s innovation-led ecosystem. With OCBC’s expertise in supporting businesses across industries, we share a common goal of supporting these enterprises by bridging industries and facilitating valuable connections. Here’s what the attendees had to say: Jessy WANG, Global Partnerships Executive, HKSTP shared, “This is the first networking event of the HKSTP Overseas Partnerships team in collaboration with a bank in Singapore. The event was very enriching, providing our companies with a lot of exposure on various levels. This will help achieve cross-border collaborative expansion of the Hong Kong startup ecosystem.”   This was echoed by Tony Lam CEP ®, Head of Sales, Aurabeat Technology Ltd, "The networking opportunities were exceptional. These new connections have the potential to significantly accelerate our market entry and product development timelines.”   Louis Khoo, Director of Kimly Construction added, “The event was an excellent forum for cross-border industry knowledge exchange among the growing community of advanced construction tech practitioners, innovators and startups. I also learnt how OCBC can support and bring inventors and companies from across the globe together to solve real world industry challenges.” Through such curated business matchmaking and knowledge-sharing sessions and more, OCBC continues to play a critical role in shaping the future of these industries in ASEAN, Greater China, and beyond. #OCBCOneConnect #PropTech #ConTech #GreenInnovation #Sustainability #BusinessPartnerships #OCBC #HKSTP

Gen Alpha will soon be able to bank digitally with the OCBC MyOwn account. Launching on 20 October 2024, this first-of-a-kind account by a bank in Singapore enables teenagers and older children aged seven to 15 to operate their own bank accounts. Using their own OCBC Digital app and OCBC MyOwn debit card, teens can make digital payments more easily while out with friends. Those who are younger may not have their own phones yet, so OCBC MyOwn account’s usefulness would centre on savings and to facilitate early financial education. This independence is balanced with parental supervision - parents will be able to use their own OCBC Digital app to monitor their child’s account activities, among other control measures. One took over her mother’s business and transformed it. One started a business at a young age with her spouse. Another decided to break norms and enter the tech world.   These are just some of the women who embody the determination and grit of women entrepreneurs, paving the way as trailblazers in their respective industries. These remarkable women are none other than our esteemed panellists: Ms Wei Jia Chin (Group CEO of HMI Medical), Ms Verleen Goh (Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Alchemy Foodtech ) and Ms Sharon Lim (Chairwoman of Browzwear), who shared their insights at a panel discussion during the inaugural OCBC Women Unlimited networking event.    Moderated by Mr Linus Goh, Head of Global Commercial Banking at OCBC, our panellists shared 3 key advice for women entrepreneurs:   1. Embrace your potential and grow into it. “We need to accept our potential, seize it and run with it. You might not be 100% there, but you can grow into it.” - Ms Chin Wei Jia, Group CEO of HMI Medical   2. Your voice matters, be heard. “What matters is the voice that you have. As long as you are willing to share about your idea and put yourself out there, you can be heard.” - Ms Verleen Goh, Co-founder and CTO of Alchemy FoodTech   3. Pace yourself and stay true to your abilities. “You need to know what it means to pace yourself, and not let other people’s pressures pressure you to do things any differently from what you are able to do.” - Ms Sharon Lim, Chairwoman of Browzwear Group Thank you to our amazing panellists and everyone who joined us! Come join the movement as we galvanise a community that supports one another, and empowers women to achieve their dreams and ambitions.   Find out more on how we are empowering women entrepreneurs here: https://lnkd.in/gjJiXNAd   #OCBCWomenUnlimited #WomenEntrepreneurs #CelebratingWomen
