10:00AM: You interviewed for the job. 11:00AM: You leave feeling confident you nailed it. 7 Days Later: You receive a rejection message or phone call. What went wrong? Well, the thing is, there could be multiple reasons why you didn't land the job, and many of them have nothing to do with you, your character or your skillset. Here are just a few reasons why: ▪ The budget changed ▪ They went with an internal hire ▪ They had to put the role on hold ▪ You were overqualified for their needs ▪ A more senior candidate entered the mix ▪ An existing employee recommended someone ▪ The scope of the role and requirements changed ▪ A candidate had a pre-existing relationship with the hiring manager These factors are all out of your control. Don't let them discourage you from future applications. When you don't get a role, ask for feedback so you know why. And remember, just because you're told no now doesn't mean the next one won't be a yes. Keep trying! #rejection #jobseekers #nextone #recruitment
