Officer / Assistant Officer, Procurement (Contract)

The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Communications Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies, Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, IoT Sensing and AI Technologies, and Innovative Mind.

It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and Metaverse.

Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred more than 1500 technologies to the industries and been granted over 1100 patents in the Mainland, the US, and other countries.

Job Responsibilities

To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):

  • To support the supervisor in managing the procurement activities of a defined category of spend including purchase requisitions, sourcing, quotation analysis, and purchase orders, Purchase Order (PO) payment requests, and supplier management process, and inventory management process and ensuring compliance with related policies and procedures;
  • To be responsible for coordination of supplier registration, Purchase Order (PO) issuance, PO Payment Process, database input/ update and address any related issues;
  • Assist in managing all documentation and maintain good record trail of transactions;
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects and report preparation to management when necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related disciplines, with a minimum of 1-year working experience;
  • Knowledge in sourcing and procurement of corporate services, IT items, professional services or research and development (R&D) products/services, Microsoft Excel or Access or Power Platform or is a plus;
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Putonghua;
  • Lives ASTRI values;
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered as the post of Assistant Officer, Procurement. Fresh graduates will also be considered.

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
