Jardines has announced our 2024 half-year results. • Underlying profit attributable to shareholders of US$550 million and underlying earnings per share of US$1.91 • Stable interim dividend of US$0.60 • Underlying profit 33% below 2023, principally due to non-recurring impairments in Hongkong Land • DFI Retail underlying profit up 127% “The Group delivered weaker results in the first half of 2024, impacted by impairments in Hongkong Land’s Chinese mainland Development Properties business and challenging market conditions in Indonesia and Vietnam. There was, however, an encouraging improvement in DFI Retail’s year-on-year performance. The Group has a strong balance sheet and, under leadership strengthened by new CEOs in four of its portfolio companies, will focus on delivering sustainable long-term value and growth from its growing markets in Asia.” Ben Keswick, Executive Chairman Read the full announcement at > https://lnkd.in/ghjAj_CR #Jardines #JardineMatheson

At the recent Jardines July social mixer, we welcomed our newest colleagues and summer interns. We had the opportunity to recharge, exchange ideas, foster creativity, and strengthen connections across various departments. Our mixers are held regularly, with each one having a unique themed and organised by different departments. This time, we savoured a variety of Cantonese street food and fresh bakes prepared by our talented colleagues, infusing the pantry with a delicious aroma. Stay tuned for more updates and a glimpse into the vibrant life at Jardines. #PeopleofJardines #Jardines #JardineMatheson

Over 100 colleagues, friends and family members across Jardines participated in a 'Colleague Volunteering' event at Tung Ping Chau Island in Hong Kong, cleaning up its shorelines and hiking trials. The island, which is part of the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, is renowned for its remarkable geological features. However, its remote location makes it less accessible for volunteers, making this initiative a valued opportunity for Jardines to contribute to the local community. As our volunteers cleaned up the island, they were also reminded of the shared responsibility we all have in protecting nature. A total of 80kg of waste was collected and properly disposed. Volunteers were also given a guided tour by an island native, who shared insights into its significance towards Hong Kong's geology and marine ecology. At Jardines, we are committed to protecting biodiversity and minimising our impacts on nature as we understand safeguarding ecosystems across our operations is paramount to the long-term sustainability of our business. Check out the highlights here and stay tuned for more Jardines volunteering updates.
