📢 Institute of Philanthropy (#IoP) is pleased to announce the launch of, ‘Examining Trust and Measurement in Asian Philanthropy’, a joint publication by IoP and McKinsey & Company, at #PBC2024!   Over the past decade, Asian philanthropy has undergone significant transformation; characterised by its diverse landscape, it presents unique opportunities for innovation and learning. 📢 Unveiling the launch of The Bridgespan Group report on Asian and Global Philanthropic Practices to Drive Impact, prepared with the financial support of the Institute of Philanthropy (#IoP) at #PBC2024!   Institutional philanthropy in Asia and beyond has been formalising practices to achieve real and sustainable #impact, presenting an opportunity to scale up and address social and environmental issues worldwide. Analysing data from 20 of the largest global and Asian institutional philanthropies, corroborated by Bridgespan’s 20+ years of experience working with key actors in the sector, the newly launched report, prepared with the financial support of the Institute of Philanthropy (#IoP) identifies five high-impact practices for institutions looking to achieve meaningful and enduring impact:   1. Put impact first  → Define a clear purpose when addressing social or environmental problems, to lay the groundwork for defining the impact you seek to achieve. 2. Set ambitious goals → Establish ambitious goals for deep and sustainable positive change at a transformative scale, aiming to address the root causes of social and environmental issues, whether at a broad population level or deep within specific communities.   3. Appropriately resource your giving → Provide focused, sustained long-term support, often with unrestricted funding, to nonprofits or operating foundations; commit resources at a scale that is commensurate with the extent of your ambitions while meeting the urgency of the need.   4. Embed data-driven learning → Leverage data as a tool for learning and decision-making to maximise the impact of your giving by ensuring your decision-making process is robust and well-informed.   5. The Philanthropy for Better Cities Forum 2024 (#PBC2024) commences at the West Kowloon Cultural District (WestK) today. Following the opening performance by Yat Po Singers, Michael Lee, Chairman of The Hong Kong Jockey Club extended a warm welcome to attendees and introduced this year's theme 'Delivering Impactful Philanthropy in the Real World'.  “All stakeholders have to align on a shared vision of generating greater social impact and promoting the city as an international philanthropic hub. John KC Lee, HKSAR Chief Executive, also delivered a video address to welcome our distinguished guests, “My thanks to the HKJC Charities Trust for orchestrating the PBC forum.
