Our colleague Cindy spoke at our open house last weekend, sharing her personal experience of homelessness. We are incredibly proud of how far she has come. Since starting with us a few years ago, Cindy has transformed into a key member of our team and an entrepreneur, establishing her own chilli oil business. 【Community Events】 In 2022, #TheHomelessAlliance had a bold vision - to shine a spotlight on homelessness in Hong Kong. Last October, we took the first step, hosting a public hearing that urged adoption of a #HomelessFriendlyPolicy. This year, we brought the community together for change. On the day of the event, the energy was palpable. Many service users came and shared their stories in the Human Library, and engaged guests from the community with #games and powerful #conversations. Even the sweltering heat didn't dampen spirits.  And the public responded in kind. More than 200 people joined! One mother even rearranged her son's swimming class to ensure they could attend. Securing venue approval, coordinating volunteers, and bringing it all together was no easy feat. But for our alliance, it was worth every second of hard work. We each gladly #committed extra time, resources and energy to this event, fueled by a belief that we could create a real, tangible impact. The result? #Hope. Hope for the marginalised individuals who finally have a platform to be seen and heard. Hope for a society that proves it's ready to #listen, #empathise, and #act. While the road ahead may still be long, moments like this serve as small wins. They inspire us to continue pushing forward and amplify these crucial conversations.

【Client Transformation Stories】 For years, RJ had been trapped in drinking and despair. Losing his beloved cousin and business had shattered his world, leaving him adrift and without purpose. One day, RJ stumbled upon ImpactHK handing out free meals, and his curiosity was piqued. With nowhere else to turn, he found refuge in ImpactHK's shelter. Once life became stable, RJ rediscovered the #creativity that had once delighted him. Dusting off his long-forgotten graphic design skills, he helped out our interns and staff with design requests. With each project he completed, RJ felt a renewed clarity. Last week, he completed a big #graphicdesign project for our S+ exhibition. We couldn’t be more proud of him! Today, RJ's days are filled with creative pursuits – from learning the guitar to launching a t-shirt brand that celebrates the nostalgic essence of Cantonese culture. RJ reflects on his #transformation with a sense of wonder. "I never could have imagined my life taking this path. But discovering organisations like ImpactHK, and reconnecting with the passions I had buried, has truly been an awakening." By embracing creativity and a steadfast determination to move forward, he has carved out a new trajectory - one filled with hope, purpose, and the conviction to follow his own #passion. #ClientTransformation #ImpactHK #MondayInspiration
