  • We are honoured that BEA has been selected as a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series for the first time! Launched in 2001 by FTSE Russell, An LSEG Business*, the FTSE4Good Index Series is widely used by investors and market participants globally to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products. To be included in the Index Series, businesses have to meet a variety of ESG criteria in areas such as corporate governance, human rights and community, as well as climate change.  This listing comes soon after BEA’s first inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition). We are encouraged by this prestigious recognition and will continue to work towards our vision to be the sustainability leader among financial institutions in Greater China and beyond. #Sustainability #ESG #FTSE4Good *London Stock Exchange Group

  • Regular exercise is good for the body and mind, as it helps you live a happier, healthier life. It is also one of the key components of positive aging. At the fitness sessions we hosted for older adults in the community lately, our volunteers did some gentle stretching exercises with the participants, and motivated them to embrace an active lifestyle. The activities are part of our “Palliative Care for the Elderly” programme in collaboration with Fundación ”la Caixa” and The Salvation Army Hong Kong and Macau Territory. With the theme of “Golden Adventures”, it supports volunteer participation and the provision of holistic care for the elderly, whilst encouraging retirees and elders to proactively plan their personal finances, health, interests, and goals as they embark on their second half of life. #BEAFoundation #BEAVolunteers #PalliativeCareForTheElderly #GoldenAdventures #PositiveAging

  • Last month, over 40 colleagues from the Singapore Branch volunteered at a soup kitchen with Willing Hearts, a charity that prepares and distributes about 7,000 free meals to over 70 locations island-wide, 365 days a year. Our volunteers helped unpack food supplies, prepare ingredients for cooking, and pack food for distribution to the elderly, the disabled, low income families, and migrant workers in Singapore. Making a difference, one meal at a time! #BEASingapore #BEAVolunteers #Community #MakeADifference

  • Did you know one blood donation can save up to three lives? A simple act can have a profound impact on those in need. Macau Branch colleagues rolled up their sleeves at the Macao Blood Transfusion Centre of the Health Bureau of Macao SAR last month. Kudos to the colleagues who generously donated blood, and know that your contribution made a significant difference to someone’s life.  #BEAMacau #BloodDonation #DonateBloodSaveLives

  • Yesterday, BEA and the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) co-hosted a seminar on sustainability and green and sustainable finance at the BEA Tower. This seminar is part of a series of events under HKQAA’s ESG Connect Programme, which BEA supports as a Mentor Organisation. The event was a success with representatives from listed companies, SMEs, NGOs, and social enterprises taking part to learn about the latest trends in sustainability. HKQAA talked about major developments, while representatives of BEA shared the Bank’s sustainability journey and how green and sustainable finance solutions can assist clients in their transition into a low-carbon business. Speakers from social enterprises and NGOs provided valuable insights on the importance of corporate social responsibility and the impact they have on the community. The event ended with a networking session where all participants had the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas. Initiated by HKQAA, the ESG Connect Programme aims to develop an ESG ecosystem to encourage members of the business community to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. #Sustainability #ESG #GreenandSustainableFinance #GSF
