  • This summer, 30 Group Management Trainees of our Bank joined a productive one-day tour in Qianhai, Shenzhen, gaining first-hand insights into the region's burgeoning business landscape, and exploring BEA's strategic development in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). They first visited the recently inaugurated BEA Tower in Qianhai, engaged with various departments of BEA China to learn about our offerings in personal banking, customer segments, treasury services and fintech capabilities in the GBA. The group was later taken to the exhibition space of WeBank and received a comprehensive presentation on its technology and digital finance products. We thank all participating units for making this tour fruitful and successful, and look forward to creating more memorable learning experiences for our future talents! #BEAMTProgramme #GBA #BEAChina

  • In August, our Kuala Lumpur Representative Office volunteered at the Kechara Soup Kitchen Society, a non-profit organisation that has been serving homeless and marginalised communities in Malaysia for over 15 years. Our colleagues packed and served vegetarian hot meals, dry food, fruits, and drinks to the beneficiaries. In addition, the team also helped pack extra food, which was then distributed to various refugee centres. Through this initiative, we hope the individuals in need received essential nourishment and support. #BEAKLRO #BEAVolunteers #CommunitySupport #MakingADifference

  • Swallowing difficulties, a condition known as dysphagia, is one common health issue faced by older adults. Not only can it take away the pleasure of eating, but also lead to malnutrition and increase the risk of choking. Recently we hosted soft meal making workshops at elderly centres for over 30 seniors and caregivers. Participants learned about the signs and symptoms associated with swallowing disorders, and that soft food can be a safer option if they encounter such conditions. With assistance from our volunteers, participants also gained hands-on experience in making delicious sweet and sour pork, in a texture-modified version that is easy to chew and swallow. For my first post here I wanted to share my interview with the The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers journal, Banking Today (Issue 136). I also spoke about the importance of the GBA to our business in the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong, and the importance of our colleagues to achieving our missions. I hope you enjoy the article.
