In this process, smart power systems are playing a crucial role. In recent years, the energy sector has undergone a profound revolution. With the rapid development of key technologies such as smart grids, renewable energy integration and energy storage, power systems are experiencing an unprecedented transformation. On one hand, these technologies are helping to enhance grid flexibility and efficiency, enabling large-scale integration of renewable energy. On the other hand, the digitalisation of power systems are also bringing new development opportunities, such as strengthening grid automation and connectivity, optimising energy supply-demand balancing, and enhancing user participation. ASTRI brings together three industry experts to explore the exciting prospects of: Session 1: Smart Power & Energy Systems: Energy-efficient Uninterruptible Power Supply Mr Victor Cheung, Principal Engineer, Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, ASTRI Session 2: Advanced Power Converter for Energy Conversion, Transmission, and Application Dr Liu Yuxin, Postdoc, City University of Hong Kong Session 3: Electrical Doctor – Real-time Health Diagnosis for Electrical Supply System Mr Loki Li, Engineer/Municipal/Project 6, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department Event Details Date: 14 Aug 2024 (Wednesday) Time: 2pm – 3:30pm Venue: Building 2W, HKSTP/ Zoom Language: Cantonese/Putonghua Register now to reserve your spot and engage with our expert speakers: https://lnkd.in/gzY7E9pY #ASTRI #SmartPower #EnergySystems #ASIH

Since earlier this year, ASTRI has strengthened our presence in Hetao and has received tremendous support from the Hetao Development Agency in terms of space, policies, and funding. Leveraging Hetao’s unique advantages, ASTRI has embarked on research and testing for multiple I&T projects. We’re accelerating the development of pilot platforms, focusing on cross-border smart mobility between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, cross-border cloud integration for roads and vehicles, and third-generation semiconductor technology, realising technology transfer and commercialisation of R&D outcomes. In his interviews with Shenzhen Satellite TV and other media, Ir Sunny Lee, Chairman of ASTRI, stated that Hetao is an ideal base in the Greater Bay Area, being the only Mainland location that offers the 'One River, Two Banks; One Zone, Two Parks' concept, which serves as a convenient innovation platform for both Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Mr Dongzhe Su, Director of Smart Mobility at ASTRI, further shared our progress and goals in developing cross-border connectivity for smart mobility in the Greater Bay Area. We are committed to leveraging the strengths of both Hong Kong and Shenzhen to promote technological exchanges, nurture I&T experts and jointly advance the I&T development in the 'Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area'. Compared to traditional silicon semiconductors, SiC and GaN have higher bandgaps, better high-temperature tolerance and higher frequency characteristics, which can significantly improve the efficiency of power systems and reduce power consumption and weight. These excellent performance characteristics have brought revolutionary improvements to new energy vehicles. Driving range has increased significantly; acceleration performance is more outstanding; and the overall vehicle is lighter and safer. Third-generation semiconductors are becoming a key driving force to propel new energy vehicles towards a more efficient and smarter future. ASTRI brings together three industry experts to explore the exciting prospects of: Session 1: EV Charging Technology Development Trend Dr River-TinHo Li, Director, Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, ASTRI Session 2: 3rd Gen Semiconductor in New Energy Vehicle and on 6G Wireless Applications Dr Xinyu Zhou, Research Assistant Professor, Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Session 3: DFT and Judging Criteria Analysis in Power Cycle of Electric Drive Dr Allen Zhou, Co-founder, Luology Event Details 📆Date: 14 Aug 2024 (Wednesday) ⏱️Time: 4pm – 5:30pm 📍Venue: Building 2W, HKSTP/ Zoom Language: Cantonese/Putonghua Register now to reserve your spot and engage with our expert speakers: https://bit.ly/4db1TDn #ASTRI #NewEnergyVehicles #3rdGenerationSemiconductor #ASIH

  • Do researchers have to toil away in the lab all day? Not at all! As the city dives into Olympics fever, ASTRI has turned its conference room into a gym. We’ve invited seasoned trainers, Ronald Lee and Ran Lam, to guide our colleagues in high-resistance band workout. This lets ASTRIANs enjoy the happy hormones from exercise, and build healthy work-life balance habits . #ASTRI #OlympicFever #Endorphin #FitnessFun #WorkLifeBalance
