【Cyberport News】Cyberport Community Members Cobo and RD Technologies Join Hands To Drive the Adoption of Stablecoin Cyberport community members RD Technologies and Cobo recently reached a strategic partnership. Cobo, the digital asset custody and blockchain technology provider, will be selected as preferred wallet partner for RD Technologies’ Hong Kong Dollar stablecoin (HKDR) to be launched, working together to explore and promote the widespread use of stablecoin. Currently, RD InnoTech, a subsidiary of RD Technologies, has become one of the first three participants admitted to Hong Kong Monetary Authority's Stablecoin Issuer Sandbox, and will conduct testing for various use cases of its proprietary HKDR including digital asset trading and cross-border trade payments. Meanwhile, Cobo provides an all-in-one wallet technology platform that enables users to buildtheir digital asset business securely through its blockchain technology. 【SocTech】 Cyberport Representative and Incubatee BridgeAI Appeared on a TV Programme to Show the Power of Social Innovation In recent years, the social welfare sector has been advocating digital transformation, utilising social innovation and technology to assist the vulnerable groups. Ricky Choi, Cluster Lead, Smart Living of Cyberport, and Cyberport Incubatee BridgeAI appeared on a HoyTV programme to share more on how social technology (SocTech) can assist the disadvantaged groups. In the interview, Bridge AI shared the development of an emotion prediction wearable, which can record physiological data of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), analyse their emotional states, and notify teachers or therapists in advance of emotional outbursts to adjust teaching methods promptly, supporting their learning needs. 【Driving Digital Transformation】Cyberport & Construction Industry Council Co-organise Seminar to Promote ConTech Applications Cyberport has been collaborating with the government to drive digital transformation, using innovative technologies to address pain points across various industries. Recently, it joined hands with Construction Industry Council to co-organise the "CIC x Cyberport InnoConstruct Talk" seminar. Drawing from our experiences collaborating with the Hong Kong Housing Society and Gammon Construction Limited, we assisted the construction industry in understanding the applications of innovation and technology (I&T) to enhance productivity, quality, sustainability, and safety standards in construction projects. Mr Ricky Choi, Cluster Lead, Smart Living of Cyberport, also engaged in discussions with industry professionals at the event. Approximately 1,800 attendees registered online for the event, showing significant interest. Three Cyberport community members already based in the "Smart Space PropTech" (Alpha AI, Blue Sky Energy Technology, and Softhard.IO) participated in sharing session, showcasing cutting-edge solutions and technologies in smart buildings, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and IoT applications, injecting a new impetus into the construction industry. Cyberport Incubation Programme Alumnus Wati has made it to the list under the category of "Enterprise Technology & Robotics", demonstrating its innovative prowess recognised internationally. WATI is a Hong Kong Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) startup that uses the WhatsApp Business API to provide a communication platform, assisting SMBs in managing their WhatsApp accounts, strengthening communication with customers and conducting promotions. In 2022, led by Tiger Global Management, they secured a Series B funding of US$23 million, with new investors including Shopify, who made their first venture investment in a Southeast Asian start-up.
