In collaboration with Scottish Water, we've demonstrated how technology can drastically reduce operational risk while delivering substantial cost savings. Needing to overhaul its approach to 'non-complex' projects (e.g., proactive, anticipated replacement of a service item), Scottish Water was impeded by inefficient and labour-intensive processes - introducing excess time, cost, and increased operational risk. By deploying a combination of technologies across Scottish Water's entire lifecycle, back-end functions enjoy a simpler, more efficient process in which information flows seamlessly from one team to another, and engineers are empowered to take control, innovate, and make their own decisions – boosting productivity, job satisfaction, and retention. In her second of two blogs on the subject, Claire Gotham – our Utilities and NA Renewables Lead – envisions North America in the 2030s, powered by local, green energy #microgrids. Among the key enablers that underpin this future, #AI will be crucial. AI will transform the energy & utilities sector by creating responsive, smart microgrids that optimize local energy consumption. By the 2030s, data-rich models, digital twins, and real feedback will enhance microgrid efficiency and resilience, benefiting both local and national energy ecosystems. Read more about how AI can revolutionize community energy and empower local consumption. https://lnkd.in/dXGq9Yng #FutureOfEnergy #EnergyTransformation

Our team recently led the way at the International Water Association World Congress in Toronto. It was an exciting and educational week, where the UK sector united to collaborate and showcase some of the market-leading initiatives we are engaged in. We extend our sincere gratitude to Shaunna Berendsen, Gemma Woods, and Lorraine Bruce for their outstanding leadership in managing the UK Pavilion at IWA, making the collaboration a tremendous success for everyone involved. As we look ahead, we're eager to support the next IWA World Congress in Glasgow 2026. Martin Crawford | Michael Lewis #WorldWaterCongress #UKPavillion24 #WaterIndustry #EnergySector
