How did a small Estonian start-up become one of the fastest-growing tech companies with over 150 million customers and 3.5 million partners in 45 countries? One word: culture. Ever since Markus, Martin and Oliver created Bolt ten years ago, our operating principles have been guiding us along the way. So, to celebrate our 10th birthday, we made a video about them. 🟢 Customer first We optimise for long-term positive impact on the world, not just personal gains next quarter. That means always starting from the customer's needs and working backwards to find solutions. 🟢 Act like an owner We care about what’s best for the company, not only one team. Whenever we see problems outside of our area of responsibility, we speak up and try to help. 🟢 Be frugal We consider the impact of every resource we spend. That’s how we solve difficult problems with less than other companies spend on office perks. But when we identify opportunities that make a difference, we invest aggressively. 🟢 Extreme pragmatism We discard most opportunities to focus on what matters. We balance common sense and data to arrive at the right decisions. We don’t fool ourselves that we’re perfect and take critical feedback seriously. 🟢 We challenge each other but mean well The best solutions are found through intense, but respectful debate. We seek out people that can prove our arguments wrong, not simply confirm our beliefs. We give honest feedback to help people grow, but make sure they know we’re on their side. 🟢 We work hard and smart We take pride in pushing ourselves to achieve extraordinary things, but we know our true limits and when to take a break. We never put in hours just for the sake of hours. What matters is impact and if we find a shortcut to success, we go for it. 🟢 Be better, not different There is no point in reinventing the wheel if it works for us. But the opposite is also true — everybody else doing something doesn’t make it right. Where it matters, we think from first principles and create solutions that nobody has thought of before. 🟢 Short-term pessimism, long-term optimism We’re focused on existing problems and upcoming challenges in our daily work. But we remain highly optimistic that the future will be far better than the present. We just realise that to get there, we can never grow arrogant or take the trust of customers for granted. 🟢 Great people over complex processes We believe that the better people we have, the fewer processes we need. We empower our teams and give them the freedom to make decisions, keeping bureaucracy to a minimum. 🟢 Have fun! People perform best when surrounded by those they enjoy spending time with. People who raise others up, not put them down. We want to be a positive influence on those around us, by pushing them to achieve extraordinary things and giving praise whenever it’s due. Sounds like the place for you? Apply today 👉 http://careers.bolt.eu

We’re always yapping about what cities should look like. But it’s about time to let our employees* grab the wheel and tell us what’s hot and what’s not. So we hunted them down during our summer summit. Join the conversation and let us know in the comments: 1️⃣ What’s the one thing you like about your city? 2️⃣ What’s the one thing you would change about your city? * One of them is Daniel. Technically, not an employee, but the host of summer summit for the past 6 years. So, we treat him as one. #bolt #wearehiring

Hey, it's Abhinav, Bolt’s Senior Product Manager in the Micromobility team. To put it concisely, I strive to make micromobility a beloved and essential part of urban life. Let me share more about my background and why I think micromobility is a key bet in making cities for people. 🥵 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐲 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 I've lived primarily in Bangalore and Pune, cities renowned in India as tech hubs hosting major companies. Despite its innovation, Bangalore is infamous for its severe traffic congestion, with daily commutes often taking hours due to slow public transport and inadequate infrastructure. Frustrated by these challenges, I eventually bought a car for convenience despite my preference for public transport. This experience showed the need for better mobility options micromobility companies offer to reduce reliance on private vehicles and ease urban congestion. Since moving to Tallinn 2 years ago, I have never felt the need to buy a car due to the city's public transport options and Bolt services. This experience made me believe even more in sustainable transport options and how they can improve city life. 🛴 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 With scooters and bikes, we make it easier for people to take short daily trips. We want to offer a more convenient transport than ride-hailing or public transport. Interestingly, around 30 to 35% of rides either start or end near public transport stops, perfectly complementing public transport and reducing car usage. This aligns with our mission to create cities focusing on people rather than cars. 🦺 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 We prioritise accommodating diverse physical needs and understand that users interact with streets and walkways differently. Safety and responsible parking are integral to our designs, so we implement solutions for proper parking and use sidewalk detection technology to prevent blockages. Additionally, we collaborate with third parties to foster a secure and inclusive environment and educate our customers about essential safety and parking rules. 💪 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐏𝐌 To be successful in my role, a person needs to possess a few key competencies: 👉 Deeply know the customer, their preferences and pain points. 👉 Grasp the business model thoroughly. 👉 Provide solutions that benefit both customers and the business. *** If you tick these boxes and are eager to join us in making cities more livable, apply ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eimG2tCQ

We hosted an engineering meetup at our Bucharest office! Our engineering meetups are all about meeting great people in the local engineering community and sharing how we use technology to solve some of the greatest problems cities face. 👉 Our Engineering Manager, Catalin Constantin, presented a case study on how we optimised courier dispatch to perfectly sync with restaurant order readiness. 👉 Silja, our Senior Analytics Engineer, posed an intriguing question: How, as an engineer, can you help product and analytics be successful? 👉 Jaroslav, our Senior Software Engineer, wrapped up the evening with some true crime events—or, more precisely, a discussion of how to stop fraudsters. Thanks to all who joined us in Bucharest! 💚 #Bolt #LifeAtBolt

When you land in Rome, finding a taxi driver is almost impossible due to licence restrictions. Travelling in Greece? You’ll need to book a vehicle for at least 3 hours — even if you don’t need it for that long. Similar outdated local regulations lead to higher prices, longer pickup times, and unreliable service in many EU member states. As shared mobility in Europe is projected to double by 2030, regulations should keep up. Creating a single market for urban mobility services would promote fair competition and create more opportunities for hundreds of thousands of drivers and tens of millions of passengers. Your electric Bolt has arrived! 💚 Great news — we’re launching a fleet of premium electric vehicles to expand electric transport options, and we're starting with 10 cities in Europe! In a recent survey of over 7,000 drivers and fleet owners, 35% said the high vehicle purchase cost is the biggest barrier to switching to an Electric Vehicle. By supporting our strategic fleet partners with co-financing, we're helping them acquire higher-quality, fully electric cars. Select the Green, Electric or Tesla category in the Bolt app to enjoy an electric ride! *** Read more: https://lnkd.in/d4b4uzsE #Bolt #EV

Hey, it’s Igor, Bolt’s Operations Coordinator. Before joining Bolt, I embarked on an adventurous career journey, exploring diverse industries like telecommunications, banking, transport and tourism. In 2020, I added a creative twist to my professional path by becoming a certified makeup artist. As you can see, I thrive on exploring new horizons and pushing my boundaries. Spoiler alert: my nearly 2-year adventure at Bolt has been exactly that. Here’s a glimpse into my life at Bolt. 💚 Why I joined Bolt My passion for thriving in a fast-paced environment drew me to Bolt. Reflecting on my journey here, I’m amazed by my role’s impact on my personal and professional growth and the incredible milestones I’ve achieved over the years. For instance, I participated in launching an Estonian language program with our partner Lingvist to help drivers assess their Estonian language skills and learn the language as quickly as possible. I also contributed to making onboarding easier by recording a YouTube course on becoming a driver in Estonia. At Bolt, your growth knows no bounds here — even the sky isn’t the limit! 💻 My typical day My day wraps up with a mix of operational tasks and projects to boost driver engagement and streamline processes and frameworks. Some of my key responsibilities include: 👉 Solving quality-related issues. 👉 Organising events and courses for drivers. 👉 Mentoring team members.  👉 Collaborating on projects. 👉 Crafting marketing communications. It can get busy really fast, and if I could choose one superpower, it would be the ability to never get tired. Since that’s unlikely, I encourage everyone to maintain a healthy work-life balance, prioritise mental health, and find a hobby that helps you switch off. In my case, it’s attending concerts. Last year, I went to 4 major concerts, including Beyoncé and Madonna. This year, I’m excited to see Pink and Adele perform live. Concerts refresh me, and I highly recommend them! *** If you're passionate about making a difference, excited by new technologies, detail-oriented, a strong critical thinker, a great collaborator, and a talented problem-solver, we have something for you 👉 careers.bolt.eu #Bolt #LifeAtBolt
