As we delve deeper into our latest Automotive Cyber Security Report 2024, we uncover key insights essential for understanding the evolving landscape of automotive cybersecurity. These insights are derived from a thorough analysis of participant responses by our experts, highlighting emerging trends in the industry. Key Insight #1: Cybersecurity Drives Competitiveness High cyber maturity is a hallmark of market leaders. Over 90% of respondents from high-maturity organizations rated their competitiveness as “somewhat or very strong.” These companies view cybersecurity as essential for customer trust and business sustainability, incorporating advanced security measures and automation to maintain a competitive edge. Key Insight #2: Cybersecurity Has Moved Beyond Peak Hype The industry is progressing from certification to embedding a cybersecurity culture, managing cybersecurity in the field, and anticipating future threats. Average self-reported cyber maturity has slightly decreased, indicating a shift past peak hype. The focus areas are now securing the ecosystem and security operations, with cybersecurity culture gaining importance. Thank you once again to everyone who participated. At Hockenheimring, students will compete in dynamic events such as acceleration, skid pad, autocross, and endurance races, alongside static events including design and cost presentations. Promoting the next generation of engineers is particularly important to us. At #ETAS, we passionately focus on innovation and creativity, supporting ambitious projects and looking forward to innovative ideas. 🚀 Since 2008 we have been part of Formula Student Germany. As a sponsor, we support several student teams through hardware rental, licenses for ETAS software solutions, consulting through industry experts and offering business orientated workshops. As the #FSG kicks off at the start of the academic year, the teams have several opportunities to interact with industry leadership at events such as the ARWo at Hamburg University of Technology. It all culminates at the final race hosted for a week at the Hockenheimring Racetrack. In the dynamic world of automotive technology, cybersecurity has become a cornerstone of innovation. With vehicles now containing around 100 million lines of code, the need for robust cybersecurity measures is more critical than ever. Our dedication to enhancing automotive cybersecurity has driven us to conduct our fourth annual Automotive Cyber Maturity Survey, and we are pleased to share the results with you now. As our president Thomas Irawan aptly puts it, "The survey captures what cyber-mature companies do differently and what everyone else can learn from them." Here's a snapshot of this year's survey: 👉 We had participants from a record-breaking 19 countries! 👉 Participants ranged across various job levels, including subject matter experts, first line managers, and mid to top-level managers. 👉 We had a diverse group of respondents from different sectors, including OEMs, the semiconductor industry, and predominantly suppliers.
