Vienna's biggest shopping center, #WestfieldDonauZentrum, has extended its #photovoltaic system, setting a new #milestone in climate and environmental protection. The original system, established in 2014, was the largest photovoltaic installation on a shopping center roof in Austria and the largest rooftop system in Vienna. Ten years later, as part of the group-wide sustainability initiative #BetterPlaces2030, the center achieves another milestone by collaborating with @10hoch4Energiesysteme to expand the existing photovoltaic system with two additional installations. Altogether, the center now boasts a total system with an impressive nominal output of 2,200 kilowatt-peak . #WestfieldDonauZentrum celebrates #PrideMonth with an LGBTQIA+ flag exhibition 🏳️🌈 Vienna's largest shopping center once again embraced the colors of the rainbow this year and used #PrideMonth to send a strong message of #diversity, #inclusion, and the visibility of LGBTQIA+ issues. 🌈   In collaboration with #TamaraMascara, Austria's most famous drag queen, the center opened an exhibition featuring the flags of the LGBTQIA+ community. Held in the ARENA event space, the exhibition showcased various flags representing the diverse identities within the LGBTQIA+ community. Each flag highlighted a distinct identity or group, symbolizing the vibrant diversity and inclusivity of the community.   Visitors to the shopping and leisure destination had the opportunity to attend the exhibition free of charge during opening hours until June 30, joining Westfield Donau Zentrum in promoting greater diversity and #acceptance in society. #AwarenessCampaign: Raising awareness and enjoying the UEFA Euro 2024 at #WestfieldDonauZentrum! ⚽🏆 A 2021 study by the Centre of Economics has highlighted a concerning trend: football events are often associated with an increase in domestic violence against women. As we approach the #UEFAEuropeanChampionship2024, Westfield Donau Zentrum is partnering with #WhiteRibbon to launch an awareness campaign aimed at addressing this critical issue. The goal is to educate about domestic violence, provide support for those affected and set up information stands within the center where visitors can learn about available support services. 💡 In addition, Westfield Donau Zentrum is providing a weather-proof, state-of-the-art #publicviewing experience at "The Kitchen". From June 14 to the final on July 14, visitors can watch all the Euro matches on a massive 15-sqm HD screen. ⚽️ And there's more! Reflecting on Three Days of Community Impact   This past week, our team embarked on a three-day social initiative that left us humbled and inspired.    Our first stop was the bustling Social Market #WestfieldDonauZentrum, where we tackled the essential behind-the-scenes work. From clearing away goods to sizing shelves and meticulous price labeling, every action was a step towards supporting the market’s mission to serve the community.   #Samariterbund “Suppentopf” Campaign: that day was filled with the aromas of hearty meals as we prepared food, then delivered it to various facilities. The highlight was distributing meals to those in need, a reminder of the simple power of a warm dish.   Stem Cell Typing with #RotesKreuz: We assisted in saliva sampling and acquisition, a critical step in matching donors with recipients. The potential to save lives through this campaign was a profound note to end on.   These three days were more than just volunteer work; they were a testament to the spirit of giving and the collective effort to make a difference. The Retail Symposium has Europe’s longest tradition among retail and retail real estate events. 26 years and over 350 participants each year – the event is one of the leading think tanks of the industry in Europe as well as the most important industry get-together in Austria. 🏃♂️🏃♀️ Great running experience at the 5th #SCSRun presented by Decathlon ! With over 1,250 participants from 22 nations, the fifth SCS Run at #WestfieldShoppingCitySüd was nothing short of spectacular. From seasoned athletes to hobby runners – people of all ages and abilities came together to celebrate the joy of running. 🎉   A highlight of this year's run was the extended indoor course, taking runners on a scenic journey through the center's shops and restaurants. And the diversity of participants was truly remarkable, with ages ranging from 1 to 77 years old. 🌟 The event was rounded off with a diverse program, including music and entertainment from kronehit, as well as face painting activities, bouncy castles, and children's entertainment from McDonald's.   We're proud to see the SCS Run become a constant in the sporting life of Lower Austria, bringing families and communities together for a day of fun and fitness. 💪   A big thank you to Decathlon for their support in providing top-notch equipment for our participants and to all the participants who made this year's run unique once again. #WestfieldGoodFestival #WWF Around the world, the illegal wildlife trade is responsible for the slaughter of tens of thousands of animals every year, driving some of the world's most popular species to the brink of extinction. In order to set an example and to raise awareness of biodiversity, Westfield Donau Zentrum welcomed Guido Daniele. The acclaimed artist known for his Handimals exhibition surprised one lucky Shopper and Arwen from “Ilia´s Welt” with a creation of their own. Through his unique approach of painting animals on hands, Guido Daniele aimes to shed light on the importance of animal welfare and wildlife protection. His visit truly was the highlight of this year's Westfield Good Festival at #WestfieldDonauZentrum.
