Contrary Polish's Purple Smoke

I've already talked about how much I love Contrary Polish, but seriously, I am in love with all the colors!  I especially like how many of the polishes are work appropriate but have a slight fun edge to them.  Here is Purple Smoke, a blue/purple/grey with purple shimmer.  This is two coats with base and top coats.  I got lots of compliments on this one!  It's a beautiful polish that I can see myself returning to over and over again.

Contrary Polish's Better Together

I  love every single one of Contrary Polish's spring 2013 line.  Here is Better Together, a dark blue/grey with turquoise shimmer.  This is two coats, with base and top coats.  And Rosy's helping me to model the polish.
She's such a ham.

Contrary Polish's Mystery

I am in love with Contrary Polish.  The polish is smooth and easy to apply, comes in great colors, and always has shimmer that adds a little punch to the polish.  Here is Contrary Polish's Mystery - two coats, with a base and top coat.  This is a beautiful smoky purplish brown with bronze shimmer.

Shhhh!  Don't speak!  Just enjoy the polish.

Contrary Polish's Bonfire and piCture pOlish's Festival

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I always have good intentions to post regularly but what ends up happening is I go crazy posting stuff for like a month and then start slacking off.  I also got busy with work and other stuff and haven't been wearing any polish for the past month or so.  I have super sensitive skin (can only wear gold around my neck and in my ears) and apparently I have sensitive nails.  They hold up to polish pretty well at first and then they go from looking like normal to looking like crap so quickly.  If I wear polish too long (even when I take short breaks between polishes) nails start to get discolored, uneven, and just look terrible.  And the white parts of my nails start to get uneven borders, ranging from slightly wiggly, to crazy dips, which is the nail plate lifting off the bed.  So whenever I start to see the early signs of this I take a long break from polish.  Yet much like alcohol (you don't even want to know how red I turn when drinking red wine), even though my body sometimes hates it, I can't resist polish!

Luckily while I take this break from polish I have some old photos of polishes I meant to post and then completely forgot about.  Here is Contrary Polish's Bonfire with a layering of piCture pOlish's Festival on top.  Bonfire is a deep red with a slight orange tone to it and gold and red microshimmer.  Beautiful polish and applies evenly.  This is two coats with one coat of piCture pOlish's Festival which I was obsessed with at one point.
More polish posts to follow!

Contrary Polish's Candle Light

Surprisingly, this is my only black nail polish.  This is Contrary Polish's Candle Light and I love it!  The color is almost like a very dark green/gray/brown that blends together to make a soft black.  There's also some beautifully subtle gold shimmer.  I put on a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat.  Application was smooth and easy!
I tried to get Rosy to help me with modeling this polish but she was too tired to do any good posing.
I haven't come across a Contrary Polish that I don't like.  I've been trying to get the rest of the spring 2013 collection but man it sells out so fast!

Contrary Polish's The Way I Am

I was able to nab one of Contrary Polish's Love Lyrics collection (argh, will have to try again for the others this week).  This is The Way I Am, which is very different in person than I thought it was going to be.  When I saw swatches online it looked and was described as a very pale avocado with fuchsia shimmer.  But in person this is much darker than I thought it was going to be.  I'm thinking those first swatches I saw were just one coat because this is more like a gray-green, or a camo green.  On me this pulls a bit more gray than I would've thought.

Either way this is a very pretty and unique color, with tiny fuchsia shimmer that is only noticeable upon looking closely.  I love that because I can wear this polish to work without it looking too crazy.  Application was great and this is a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat.  Sorry I don't have better photos in better lighting but I've been sick recently so most of my time has been spent on my couch, surrounded by pugs, as I flit in and out of consciousness.
You can see the fuchsia shimmer pretty well in this close up of the bottle.
I really want to try the other polishes in this collection as they're all beautiful shades with an interesting combination of shimmer.

Contrary Polish's Anna Maria

I am loving Contrary Polish recently.  I've been wanting to try out the new 2013 line but it sells out so fast!  So until I'm able to get them, I tried out some of the older shades.  This is Contrary Polish's Anna Maria, a murky bluish green with gold shimmer.  This color is beautiful and the polish applies great.  This is a base coat, 2 coats of polish, and a top coat.  I didn't keep this on too long because my top coat (Seche Vite) has been shrinking like crazy and so even though it dries super fast, I've decided to switch top coats.  I'm going to go back to Essie's Good to Go for now.

Anyways, here are some more photos showing the polish in indoor lighting, with some pugs to help model.

Contrary Polish's Creeping Moss

I recently discovered indie nail polishes and have become obsessed.  I ordered a ton but unfortunately most of them are non-office appropriate shades so it'll take a few weekends to work through all of them.  The first one I tried was an office-appropriate shade that I wore during the week.  Contrary Polish's Creeping Moss is described as an olivey brown with pink and copper shimmer but on me it pulls a teeny bit purple too.
I really love this polish and can see myself wearing it a lot in the future.  Application was very smooth and this is with a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat.
I purchased this from Llarowe, which has a bunch of great indie polishes.
