One of my favorite things to do is take some of my spring/summer pieces and winter-fy them. This is a great way for me to be able to wear certain pieces that I really love during the colder months. Shopping my closet and remixing pieces is a great way to get my creative juices flowing. Not to mention how it saves me some money not having to buy new clothes for that particular season. That's when my Gwynnie Bee subscription comes into play as well. When I received this gorgeous Pineapple Print Wrap Dress from Unique Vintage in my GB box, I was so happy but then I realized that it wasn't really season appropriate. But that wasn't going to stop me from wearing it now. Luckily also in my box was this stunning and warm Velvet Moto Jacket from INC International Concepts. I am literally obsessed with both of these piece. The dress is such a statement piece, super sexy and sophisticated. I've been looking for a velvet moto to add to my collection and I think I found it. The channel-quilted sleeves made this so edgy while the gorgeous green velvet gave the jacket such elegance. These two pieces paired so well together and the jacket added the extra warmth I need to wear this now.

Forever Evolving
Hi Lovies,
The other day my eldest niece April told me that my style is always evolving. I was actually shocked by her comment because I feel sometimes I'm stuck in a fashion rut. But then I really thought about it, looked back at the past 5 years and how much my style has actually grown and evolved. While I love having a signature style that people identify me with, I love to throw a few curve balls in there once in a while. As of late I have been stepping out of my fashion bubble and I'm truly loving it. Wearing jeans was one of those obstacles for me, no one ever associated me with them. Now if you look in my closet you will see an abundance of them in all kinds of styles and fits. My most recent favorites are from the Rebel Wilson x Angels collection. Her jeans are just amazing quality and the fit is perfection. These Mogul Pull on Jeggings have been in heavy rotation, I love the super skinny fit from thigh to ankle and comfortable 3 button closure waist. There's amazing recovering on these so there's no stretching around the waist or sagging at the knees. Perfect for everyday, to dress up or down, you definitely need these jeans in your arsenal.
The Perfect Silhouette
Hi Lovies,
Becoming a blogger has definitely helped me understand my body shape and what works best for it. Honestly once you figure that out, shopping and finding clothing for yourself is a breeze. But sometimes the problem with that is you will stick to one kind of silhouette. Even with myself, I like to keep it safe and go with pieces that I know are going to look good on me. As you know as of late I have been stepping out of my comfort zone and expanding my fashion. That's where my Gwynnie Bee subscription comes into play. I love that I have access to a plethora of brands that I might have never tried before and silhouettes that I was hesitant to try. There's no commitment either, if you get an item that doesn't work, you can easily send it back and try some thing else.
Watermelon
Hi Lovies,
I don't know what it is but whenever I go on the Gwynnie Bee site to browse and add things to my virtual closet, I can't help but be drawn to anything with fruit on it. I mean how could you not enjoy a fruit print on your clothes, right? You guys already know that my blog has been flooded with me wearing clothing with some kind of fruit on it. It's safe to say that I am officially obsessed. First time around, I picked out this adorable dress with lemons on it. The second time, I went all out and picked this dress with a menagerie of fruits on it, which totally gave me life. But just when I thought I had reached my height of fruitfulness, this beauty popped up on the site and I fell in love. This Watermelon Print Dress by Corey was everything I could wish for. The whimsical pink watermelon print was so charming and such an eye catcher. The scuba fabric and fit and flare design made this super easy wear for any occasion. The notched neckline and pleating just added to the character of this dress. Oh and did I mention that it also has pocket?! I was all smiles while I had this dress on, it's hard not to be. I can definitely say that this dress is a #BorrownBuy.
One Style, Three Ways: Eloquii Maxi Split Back Shirt
Hi Lovies,
Recently, Gwynnie Bee asked me to be a part of their "One Style, Three Ways"' feature that they post monthly on their blog. This feature is so fun and I was lucky enough to have participated 2 other times (see here and here). If you're not familiar with this feature, Gwynnie Bee chooses 3 women to style the same piece. It's great to see the different styles between the 3 women and what they come up with. This time around we were asked to style this Eloquii Maxi Split Back Shirt. This is definitely something I wouldn't gravitate towards at first glance. While I am a sucker for a white button shirt, I was a little intimidated by this one. Until I received the top in the mail and that all changed. I immediately fell in love with how delicate it was, super comfy and easy to wear. The split back and long line design added such an edgy twist to the classic white shirt. While the sheer fabric made it perfect for the summer. This shirt has endless style possibilities!

Hi Lovies,
The summer is all about having fun and enjoying yourself, whether it be going on vacation, enjoying a day at the beach or a long walk in the park. As for me, my wardrobe has to be fun as well for the summer. Bright colors, bold patterns and prints, anything that will put a smile on my face. Honestly it just makes my day better when my outfit is fun. I've already spoke about how I am obsessed with the fruit trend, well it hasn't stopped. This Fruit Salad Dress from City Chic via Gwynnie Bee just screams fun and playful. This cheerful print is so charming with all the adorable fruit print and vibrant colors. The fit and flare design is so flattering and the sweetheart neckline adds a little flirtiness to the dress. Not to mention how lightweight and easy to wear it is. If you're looking to make a statement this summer then you need this dress in your life. I think it's safe to say that this dress is definitely a #BorrownBuy.
No Pressure, No Commitment

Hi Lovies,
When it comes to clothing for the summer, I don't like to invest too much into it. Here in NYC the summer is only 2 months and is over in a flash. So I tend to buy clothes that are budget friendly since they spend a majority of their time in a bin for most of the year. This is when I really utilize my Gwynnie Bee subscription, because it gives me the option of having a fabulous wardrobe with no commitment. I've spoken about GB numerous times here on my blog and have been a subscriber since the beginning. If you've been living under a rock and don't know about Gwynnie Bee, they are a clothing rental subscription service for women sizes 10-32. Subscribers choose from different plans (and prices) depending on how many items they want to have out at a time. Subscribers browse the collection, select items that they like, select their size (based on size charts for each brand) and put them in their closet. Once a minimum number of items are "closeted," new members are sent a box with their first items, depending on the plan they chose. You can keep the items for as long as you want without commitment or if you really like something, you have the option to buy it at a discounted price. Shipping is super quick and I love getting treats in the mail. When you're done with the items, just pop it into the prepaid envelope they provide you with and drop it into your nearest mailbox, it's as simple as that! Like what you've heard, well this is your chance to join free for 30 days HERE.
When Life Gives You Lemons
Hi Lovies,
Yesterday was Mother's Day and while I am a mother, this day isn't the same for me anymore. This will be my third Mother's Day without my beautiful Mom who was called to Heaven almost 3 years ago. You would think it would get easier but unfortunately for me is hasn't. Losing my Mom was one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal and continue to deal with everyday. So while I am super sad on Mother's Day, I continue to celebrate her memory and thank god for all the wonderful women in my life. Whether their mothers or not, I am thankful for the special role they play in my life. My mom always told me not to live in the past but to embrace what the future has to hold for us, and that's what I do now. I will always continue to miss my mother, that's never going to change, but I will celebrate the now and all the blessings that I have. My heart will remain heavy on this day but it's good to know that I have friends and family to help lighten the weight.
Plus Size Remix: Crystalin Marie
Hi Lovies,
It's that time of the month again, I am back with another Plus Size Remix! I am so sorry that I didn't get one out for March, but it was a bit crazy last month. If this is your first time to the blog, PSR is a monthly feature where I take a look that inspires me and remix it into a plus size version. Make sure to catch last month's inspiration featuring Hallie of Among Other Things. This months inspiration came from Crystalin Marie of the blog Crystalin Marie. I totally love her blog, her style is very simple and classic with a touch of flare. I love how she adds pops of color or print to jazz up an easy look. She makes getting dressed look super easy all while remaining stylish. I love how she mentions in her bio that her style is always evolving and she hopes her daily posts not only inspire us to feel confident and stylish everyday, but encourages us to invest in classic pieces, use what you already have in your closet, and to make smart buying decisions. That is awesome!
Weekend Wear: Off The Shoulder Top
Hi Lovies,
Happy Monday all! I am back with another Weekend Wear feature and today I am talking about Off the Shoulder Tops. As you already know I am a huge fan of anything off the shoulder, as seen here, here and here. This trend has been hanging on strong for quite a few seasons now and I am super happy about that. It's definitely one of my fav trends right now especially for the spring and summer seasons. I love how feminine and lady like this type of silhouette is by showing off the perfect amount of shoulder and adding a hint of sexy to any outfit. Since I normally tend to dress anything off the shoulder, I figured this time around I will show how you can rock this trend in a casual look. This Ditsy Floral Top from Additon Elle via Gwynnie Bee was the perfect for that. The rich hues and pretty print makes this such a fun top. I love the beautiful lace trim at the bottom that is super girly along with the comfortable relax fit which made this easy to wear.
Transitioning into Spring
Hi Lovies,
Right now it's very hard to think about Spring when there's like 8 feet of snow outside but I still am. Being a native New Yorker has taught me how to deal with the sporadic weather changes and how to dress for it. Spring is just a week or so away and I love to have things in my closet that can make an easy transition in that season. Jackets are the perfect add ons for any outfit, not only for warmth but to amp up an look. Trench Coats are one of my favorite outerwear for the spring, it's classic as well as being iconic but over the years has evolved into so much more. This Liason Trench from City Chic via Gwynnie Bee is such a modern twist on a classic trench. I love the military feel of the trench with the bold silver buttons. The black color makes it super sleek looking along with the flattering belted design. This trench can easily look great with a tee and jeans for a casual look or with a dress for a more elegant feel, like I did here. Such a great staple to have in your wardrobe.
Denim Jumper
Hi Lovies,
When I think of a jumper, they immediately take me back to my childhood. My mom use to dress me in all different styles and colors of jumpers. Now that I am a grown woman, I am definitely not looking at them in the same way. Now they are more of a fashion statement or fun trend that I like to indulge in once in a while. This Denim Jumper from City Chic via Gwynnie Bee was right up my alley being how obsessed I am with denim dresses. The fact that this one was a jumper style made it ever more appealing. Not to mention the 90's feel it was giving me with the zipper detail in the front and patch pockets. I couldn't add this dress to my GB closet any faster. If you don't know what Gwynnie Bee is, check out my post here about them.
Gwynnie Bee One Style, Three Ways: The Sheath Dress
Hi Lovies,
I love taking on challenges, especially style ones because they are fun and get my creative juices going. So when Gwynnie Bee asked me to be part of their "One Style, Three Ways" series, I jumped at the chance. I participated in one last year and it was all about the bow blouse, this time it is all about the sheath dress. But not just any sheath dresses, these came from their new exclusive collection with the brand TOCCA. I know what you're saying, "isn't Tocca a beauty brand?" Well TOCCA has been in the fashion industry for over 20 years with a vision for creating beautiful clothing at affordable prices. Sophisticated and modern, TOCCA is known for its
beautifully wearable pieces that exude a feminine, sexy edge and
contemporary beauty products inspired by the Old World. They are extending their apparel collection into plus with an exclusive 9-piece collection with GB ranging in sizes 14-24W/1X-3X. I fell in love with this collection immediately, all the pieces were right up my alley and I couldn't wait to start adding some to my GB closet. If you saw one my previous post with this Adrianna Papell dress, then you know that GB is a clothing rental subscription service for women sizes 10-32. Sounds good so far? Then try them out for a month for free!
Colorful in Fall
Hi Lovies,
No matter what the season is, I always manage to keep a little bold color in my wardrobe. It helps when the weather gets really bad here in NYC and can brighten up your day. No don't get me wrong, I love my darker colors and earth tones for Fall/Winter but there's just something about a punch of color and a bold print that gets my motor running. Honestly, there are no rules to fashion and you can wear whatever makes you feel happy. This Adrianna Papell dress via Gwynnie Bee definitely falls into that category. The rich floral print is so fun and feminine, definitely an eye catcher. The vibrant colors are just beautiful and gives a romantic flare to the dress.
Party like a Rockstar!
Hi Lovies,
There's nothing better than attending an event/party and you literally have fun from the minute you get there to minute you leave. Well that's how I felt at the Gwynnie Bee VIP Kick Off Party for The Curvy Con. At the end of Curvy Con day 1, platinum ticket holders and selected guests were invited, and we were party bused to the GB headquarters in Long Island City. The ride over there was almost as fun as the event, we had great music, travel wine tumblers for libations and all around great company. We arrive at the location and took the very decorative elevator upstairs, checked in and enter the space where the party was. Let's just say GW spared no expense with this party, there was music, food, drinks, and multiple photo booths to take fun pictures. Then half way through the event, the GW Ceo Christine Hunsicker announced that they were going to a have fashion show right in the middle of the space featuring their new collection designed by Rachel Antonoff. It was such a fun, whimsical collection adorned with colorful fruit an tropical colors. Once that was done, everyone got a chance to hit the runway and start an impromptu Soul Train line, it was the perfect way to end the evening. I for sure didn't want it to end and day one of The Curvy Con was a total hit.
Sexy Valentine's
Hi Lovies,
For my last Valentine's Day look, I'm bringing you my version of the sexy Valentine's. In my previous post here, I mentioned how I normally like to go more glam for this day but there are occasions where I do like to take the sexy up a notch. Of course always keeping with my personal style and not going too over the top. As you know Leopard is "Bae" and any chance I get I must incorporate it in my ensembles. When I got this amazing dress in my Gwynnie Bee shipment, I squealed. There are 3 things I loved about this dress, it's a skater silhouette, it's made of scuba material and it's leopard print. I mean c'mon, could this be anymore perfect?! The fit was great, super comfy, the length was just right, showing just enough leg and the skater design was beyond flattering. I was very impressed with this dress and might actually considered keeping this one.
Valentine's Day Glam
Hi Lovies!!
For most women, Valentine's Day is a day to get super ultra sexy for your special someone. And while I see nothing wrong with that, I tend to gravitate towards more elegance and sophistication for that day. I guess I'm just old fashioned in that sense, and took a page out my mom's handbook about always representing yourself as a lady. It still can be very sexy, while totally representing me and my personal style. This Rita Turtleneck Dress by Corey from Gwynnie Bee is a perfect example of that. I love the draped turtleneck and rope tie belt that helps to accentuate the waist. The charcoal grey color is classic and can go with pretty much anything. What gives this dress it's sexiness is the two front slits that show off just enough leg, but still leaves something to the imagination. I added a pop of color with my red clutch and I'm ready to have a night out to be romanticized.
Valentine's Day with Gwynnie Bee
Hi Lovies,
It's hard to believe that we are almost done with January, seems like I was just screaming "Happy New Year"and drinking champagne. Now with February approaching, starts the season of love aka Valentine's Day. For some this can be a dreadful day and for others an all out event. I myself normally don't go crazy, my Beau usually works on that day and we end up celebrating on the weekend with a low key dinner date. But that doesn't mean I don't like to dress up. If you read my recent post on Gwynnie Bee here, then you know how much I love their service. They provide me with tons of options for all different occassions. This Quilted Wrap Jacket from Kiyonna totally caught my eye and definitely was perfect for V'day. I loved it so much, I decided to style it in a day to night look.
Style Challenge with Gwynnie Bee: Blouse with Bow
Hi Lovies!
I love a challenge, especially a style challenge. It pushes me to get my creative juices flowing and kinda think out the box. So when Gwynnie Bee contacted me about participating in their monthly feature on their blog "One style, three ways" along with 2 other bloggers, I was more than happy to do it. If you've not familiar with them, they are basically Netflix but for plus size clothing.
