Everyday Life in my Catherines Universal Denim - Dressing Up

Thank you to Catherines for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hi Lovies,

Going full time as an influencer and entrepreneur has changed the way I dress in a lot of ways. My look has become more of a comfy but casual style. Now that Fall weather has hit, denim will definitely be part of my everyday uniform. We all know finding the right denim jeans can be a challenge. Thankfully Catherines has made that easy with their Universal Denim. I will be sharing a series of posts showing how their Universal Denim works for me in my everyday life.

Plus Size Remix: Atlantic-Pacific

Hi Lovies,

Happy Monday everyone, today I am back with another edition of Plus Size Remix. If this is your first time to the blog then PSR is a monthly feature where I take a look  that inspires me and remix it into a plus size version. Last month's inspiration came from gorgeous Folake of Style Pantry (see here) Today's inspiration came from the stylish and chic Blair of the blog Atlantic-Pacific. I have been a huge fan of her blog for a long time and have fallen in love with style. She's elegant, poised, and all around just classy. Every photo that she takes is a feast for the eyes, just aesthetically pleasing. What I love about her style is how polished it is, everything she wears is just effortless and perfect. Not to mention how versatile its is, she can go from an beautiful fancy ball gown to a turtleneck and jeans and still look amazing. Which brings me to this look, her version of this casual weekend look caught my eye immediately. It was such a cool but put together look, and totally perfect for the current temps here in NYC, I couldn't wait to recreate it.

Dressing Up Denim

Hi Lovies,

I have said this time and time again that I am the ultimate girly girl, and I truly love that about me. I also love that people can associate my signature style with me, like "oh that's a Sandra dress." While I will always be true to my personal style, I've found myself enjoying looks that I would normally not wear. Obviously jeans is one of those things, I continue to have a love hate relationship with them. As much as I enjoy a good skirt or dress, they are tough to wear during the colder months here in NYC. Having to wear tights isn't my favorite thing to do so that's where jeans come into play. Jeans might not be my go to item but I do love the convenience of them. More so when a brand can make a pair that stand out from the rest and make a statement, like these Foil Print Jeans from Roaman's. These are such a different and beautiful pair of denim, the gorgeous foiled leaf print creates a feast for the eyes. While the comfortable stretch fabric and skinny fit make these so easy to wear. Another great thing about jeans is how effortlessly they can be dressed up or down, and with this pair it's definitely achievable.

Skirt Crazy

Hi Lovies,

For some, the cold weather means that their legs go into hibernation. Skirts and dresses get stored away and jeans/pants become your daily uniform. For me that isn't the case, as a true girly girl I actually tend to wear more skirts in the winter months. I mean I'm a skirt fanatic from the get go so it's easy for me to transition. Meaning while shopping for fall/winter clothes, skirts are on the top of the list. My favorite brand to shop for skirts is hands down Eloquii, for obvious reasons. They continue to push the plus size fashion envelope with every amazing piece. They make it so that basically there is something on the site for everyone. I can't even count how many things I own from them, let alone just in skirts. This Pleated Midi Skirt was definitely one that I had to have. The mash up of geometric patterns and combo of vibrant colors went so well together. As well as the pleats which added some delicacy to the skirt. I love that it's super fun and flirty, and makes a total statement. Not to mention the possibilities of looks that I can create, the ideas are flowing!

To The Max

Hi lovies,

I have to admit, I can be a creature of habit when it comes to my style. I know what trends, styles and silhouettes work best for my body. When purchasing dresses or skirts, I prefer a length that shows off my legs. But my fellow Instagram Wife Darlene has been pushing me to try new things and has got me to look into the maxi length. She's a petite size gal and she rocks a maxi with the best and tallest of ladies with such ease. So I took her advice and took the plunge, first with this skirt from Jibri (see post) and now with this amazing denim dress. Eloquii never disappoints when it comes to their clothing, and it's not a surprise why they are one of my top favorite brands. They continue to bring us on trend and fashion forward pieces that will always make its way to closet. This dress for example, it immediately sold out when it first hit the site a few months back. Of course I waited too long and missed out on it but in true Eloquii fashion, they heard our cries and restocked it. This time I wasn't going to miss out, I ordered it and it was one the best decisions I made.

The Mini Skirt

Hi Lovies,

For some women, the idea of wearing a mini skirt can be a daunting one. Adding to the many "so called" plus size fashion rules, mini skirt are a no-no. But as you know, rules are made to be broken and we will not tolerate anyone telling us what they think plus size woman should be wearing. So me being the rebel that I am, I decided to prove the nay-sayers wrong and rock this awesome Zip Front Denim Mini Skirt from Simply Be. The zip detailing and large front pockets make this such a fashionable take on the mini skirt. I am also a fan of the dark wash denim which goes well with so many different colors. I love that the denim isn't super heavy so I can wear this on those warmer days and not be too hot. If you're the type who likes to show off your legs, then this is the perfect skirt for you! Oh hello gams!! LOL!

Easy Breezy

Hi Lovies,

Easy breezy looks have been my go to lately. On the weekends I don't want to put too much thought into an outfit but I still want to look put together. This usually means there's some kind of denim involved. This Button Front Skirt from Simply Be was perfect for my Saturday afternoon with my babe. Beautifully soft and flowy, this skirt is just perfect for the warmer days as well as comfortable with the elastic back and light weight fabric. I love the button front design and flattering silhouette that sets it aside from the every day denim skirt.  You can do so much with this skirt, definitely a versatile piece to have in your wardrobe this for the upcoming summer season.

Chambray

Hi Lovies,

Old Navy always comes through in the clutch for me when I'm looking for inexpensive clothing for the spring/summer. They have definitely stepped up their game over the last few years and have been bringing their A game when it comes to great styles and fashion. What I also love about ON is that their clothing is very generous, I can actually shop in their straight size section with no problem because their sizing goes from XS- XXL. Which gives me more options and if I want I can flip-flop between their straight sizes and plus sizes for more variety. According to their size chart the XXL is the equivalent to a size 20, which I find to be very roomy. This Embroidered-Yoke Chambray Dress is a perfect example of that. I have quite a few denim dresses, they are just the best because it's like having a blank canvas to create greatness, it just goes with so much. This one is super chic with it's cocoon design and gorgeous embroidered yoke. Light weight, roomy and so comfy, a definite kicking around on the weekend type of dress. Denim is like jello, there's always room for more, in any shape or form.

Asymmetrical

Hi Lovies!

Now that the sun is staying out a bit longer and spring is within our reach, I can start looking at spring clothing. You know how much I despise the winter, so it's a treat to look at all the wonderful things that are starting to pop up for the upcoming season. In a previous post, I spoke of the brand the Avenue and how they have come a long way with their fashion. They currently have a bunch of great pieces for spring, especially in dresses. You know I'm a total dress girl and love adding unique ones to my collection. This Asymmetrical Denim Dress was definitely something I didn't have and would be perfect for spring.

Denim on Denim

Hi Lovies,

I have a morning commute routine which consist of checking my social media, going through my bloglovin to see what my favorite bloggers are posting about and lastly I read my emails. The ones I go to first are from the brands I frequently shop at, informing me about what discounts or sales they are currently having, and/or new arrivals. Emails from Eloquii are usually the ones I open first, they have the best sales and I just adore them. When this Mixed Denim Skater Skirt popped up on their site, I wasted no time clicking the "ADD TO CART" button. It was instant love at first sight, I mean c'mon, just look at it! It had such a 70's feel to it while still remaining modern. Plus the fit and flare, skater silhouette is me on so many levels. Also the possibilities of looks is so endless, denim goes with pretty much everything!

Fashion to Figure Denim: Weekend Look

Hey Lovies!

For my last and final look featuring Fashion to Figure Denim is my favorite, the weekend look. When it comes to the weekend, I don't want to have to over think about what I am going to wear. My outfit should definitely be easy breezy and no nonsense. My denim of choice for the weekend are definitely a pair of Boyfriend Jeans, they are super comfortable, casual and go with almost anything. The FTF boyfriend jeans are amazing, they aren't super baggy and are a great fit. I love the distressing on them and the faded wash which gives them a little edgy look. These can totally be dressed up as well with a cute pair of heels or booties. Every woman should have a pair of these in their wardrobe, they are for sure a staple.

Fashion to Figure Denim: Workwear Look

Hi Lovies!

Back in August, Fashion to Figure invited a bunch of bloggers to their offices to check out their new denim line. The whole idea behind their new denim line is, when you find your size in any of their styles, that will be your size across the board. There will no longer be a need to bring 20 different pairs of jeans with you into the dressing room anymore. If you're an 18 in their skinny jean, then you're an 18 in their Boyfriend jeans. They currently have a jegging, skinny jean, boyfriend jean and a boot cut jean. At the end of the event we filled out a card letting them know which styles we wanted. Now you know I'm not a jean girl at all but it's important to have at least the basics in your wardrobe. I opted for the skinny, jegging and the boyfriend. I knew I wanted to do 3 different outfits with them to show their versatility. Today's look is my work wear look featuring their skinny jean in dark wash.

Casual Sunday: Denim and Tribal Print

Hi Lovies!

Sundays for me are usually very casual unless I have an event to go to. Otherwise I just like to feel relaxed and wear something that's literally "easy like Sunday morning". Now I am totally dress or skirt girl on a regular basis even throughout the cold months but I have found myself very fond of the harem/jogger trend. At first I was intimidated by them, because like a lot of women, I don't like the way my bum looks in pants lol. Since I've been trying to be more daring with my fashion, I decided to give them a try, and I have to say I'm obsessed now with about 8 pairs in my wardrobe. One of my favs are these Tribal Print ones from Forever 21. I love that they aren't overly baggy at the top and more fitted around the leg as well as having pockets which is always a plus.

OUTFIT: Memorial Day BBQ

Hi Lovies,

If you live in NY, then you know this Memorial Day Weekend was not the greatest. Friday and Saturday felt more like October than May. But miraculously, Mother Nature cooperated and Monday was a picture perfect day! I attended my first BBQ of the year and I definitely indulged way too much. I ate and drank in abundance, to the point where I literally felt like I had to be rolled out of there lol! Just something about BBQ's, I tell ya :o) I kept my outfit comfortable and simple but still cute and stylish. I went with one of my favorite denim shirts and bandage skirt. I accented the outfit with gold accessories to go with the gold studding on the top and a pop of print with my leopard clutch and sandals.

Neons and Denim

Sundays are usually laid back, relaxed days for me and my outfits usually reflect that. Last Sunday I wanted to wear something comfortable and casual but with a pop of color. So I went with my Denim Shirt from Old navy, along with my Neon Yellow Boyfriend Cardigan for my pop of color and Black Leggings for comfort-ability both from Forever 21.
