Born Pretty Winter Light

Hello my lovelies! Today I'm back with another Born Pretty Store review. The nail polish I'm showing you today is part of a collection of glitter polishes that are also peel off. Since glitter is very hard to take off the nails, I often use a peel off base coat underneath so I don't have to go through the ordeal of regular removal. This polish doesn't require that base, so I was excited to try it out and see how I get along with it.

Born Pretty Store Thermal Top Coat

Hello my lovelies! Happy new year! It's been a long time since I posted on this blog and I won't go into the multiple reasons for that, but I hope to return since I really miss it. I've still been doing my nails almost weekly, mostly without nail art, and I even managed to grow them quite a bit over the holidays. Unfortunately, my job doesn't allow me to wear long nails, so I had to chop them off. There are a lot of cool new things in the nail world that I really want to try out and am excited about. One of the things I really wanted to get my hands on is a thermal color changing top coat* and the lovely people at the Born Pretty Store were kind enough to send one my way. Here's how it looks!

Monday Blues: Trend It Up Bold Glitter 030

Hello my lovelies! Welcome to the first Monday Blues of February! I don't know about you but January always gets me a bit down. I'm so glad it's over! I'm starting this month right with a post on the blog. By the way, I started a new blog about books. I know it's shameless advertising, but if you are interested in what I read you can check it out here. And if you are interested in what I wear on my nails, you have come to the right place. Today I want to show you a polish from a brand that is new to me and pretty new on the market. I haven't done a swatch post in ages and I must say I missed reviewing polish for you. So let's go!

Monday Blues: Dreamology

Hello my lovelies! How's your Monday so far? I decided to have a long weekend so I took today off to catch up on my rest. I have a fun new stamping plate to show you today, along with the blue manicure that I created using it. There are quite a few Moyra plates in my collection, and I am very fond of them because they have beautiful and original designs for an affordable price. Not all my Moyra plates stamp perfectly (reviews here, here and here), but most of them are good quality and I think they've learned from their mistakes because the last ones I've purchased are top notch. The one I'm showing you today came out this year and I'm happy to report that I had no issues with it. Here's the manicure I created using it.

Monday Blues: Holo Experiment

Hello my lovelies! It's the last Monday of August, which makes me a little sad. I  love summer because I hate the rain that makes me stay inside all day and that's what is coming up once fall is upon us. I decided to enjoy the last days of summer by taking a day off. One of the tasks for today was doing my Monday Blues manicure, so I decided to experiment a bit with some holo polishes and the result wasn't what I expected. I wouldn't call this a fail because the stamping really saved the day in this case, but the original idea was a bust. Oh well.

Review: Moyra Stamping Plates Part 3

Hello my lovelies! I guess summer is upon us since we've been getting extra hot weather with ocasional thunderstorms in the last days. I much prefer staying cool and out of the sun. Nail art is, of course, one of my favorite indoors activities. Today I'm gonna show you the rest of the Moyra stamping plates in my collection. I own 10 Moyra plates in total, and I've already reviewed 6 of them here and here. Now it's time for me to show you the remaining 4 plates. I'm gonna try showing them in order, starting with 05 Vintage.

Monday Blues: Lady Queen BC-06 Stamping Plate Review

Hello my lovelies! I hope your Monday is as sunny as mine! The weather is absolutely perfect today so I couldn't be happier. Today's post is all about a stamping plate that the lovely people over at Lady Queen sent to me. I have tried some of their nail art accessories in the past and I was quite curious to see if the stamping plates work well. I am happy to announce that all three stamping plates that I received stamp great. Today I'm showing you the first one. Here's the manicure I came up with using this stamping plate.

Review: Moyra Stamping Plates Part 2

Hello my lovelies! It's been a long time coming, but I finally have some new Moyra plates to show you. After my initial review of 3 plates, I purchased a total of 7 more plates. They are a bit too many for one post, so I decided to break them into two more posts. Since the plates with numbers from 17 to 24 are the newest to come out, I will start with the three I own from this bunch, namely 19 Maharaja, 20 Orientalist and 24 Primavera. I have used all these plates for a manicure and I also did some swatches on paper using a black stamping polish. Let's go!

Review: Born Pretty Store Stampers

Hello my lovelies! After a very long and stressful week, I finally managed to get some rest (read 12 hours of sleep) and I feel human again. The weather is still pretty cold, so nothing much has changed there. Hopefully it gets a little better next week so I can finally go running again. I haven't had time for nails this week, but I'm finally able to show you what I've been working on lately. Over the last year or two, I've received a few stampers from the Born Pretty Store. Some of them I've used, some have been lying in my drawers doing nothing. I finally decided to test them all out and do a review and comparison for you. I really hope some of you find this useful as these are all affordable stampers and are accessible to everyone due to the free international shipping. Let's get started!

Review: Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate Organizers

Hello my lovelies! It's been a busy week in my neck of the woods and spring hasn't been around much. It's been cold and rainy, which was not great for my mood. I really hope it's gonna get warm soon because I'm so sick of this weather. I've been working on a couple of reviews of some stamping stuff from the Born Pretty Store and I hope they're gonna be useful for some of you. First up, I have a couple of stamping plate organizers that were kindly sent to me to show you. The first one is for plates of a larger size. Let's take a look!

Moyra Stamping Plates Review

Hello my lovelies! It's Saturday and there's a beautiful sun shining from my window. This week wasn't the best for me but I'm finally feeling better and I'm ready to talk about some stamping plates. This is gonna be a long post with plenty of pictures, so get your cup of coffee or tea ready before your start reading. The Moyra stamping plates have been around for quite some months now, but because we're talking about a Hungarian company they aren't very easy to get ahold of. I know they are quite accessible for European people, but I'm not sure if it's the same for the rest of the world. The good news is that Nailland started selling them a few days ago and I'm pretty sure they ship internationally. There are currently 20 plates available, including the 4 new ones that just came out. I got mine from the local Moyra supplier and I picked 3 out of the ones that were in stock.

Aveniro Glass Nail File Review

Hello my lovelies! One of my new year's resolutions was to post more on the blog, so I decided to take some time on this gloomy Saturday to write a review that was long overdue. The lovely people over at Aveniro have contacted me a few months ago to offer me some of their products for review. Aveniro is a Czech based company that produces crystal glass nail files both for manicure and pedicure purposes. I kept postponing this review and I somehow ended up forgetting about it, so I would like to apologize to them for that. I've talked about glass nail files several times on this blog because they are the only kind I use. You really can't compare them to anything else on the market. The ones produced in the Czech Republic are the best I've ever tried, so naturally I was excited to try the ones from this new company. Here's what they kindly sent to me.

Farmec Autumn-Winter 2014 Nail Polish Collection - Swatches and Review

Hello my lovelies! It's Saturday and it's the perfect time to relax. I'm finally having a weekend that I can fully enjoy. My only job for today is to write this post and tell you everything about a collection of nail polishes brought out by a local brand. It's not the first time I talk about Farmec on my blog. It's a brand of cosmetics that comes from my very own city, Cluj, and has a tradition of over 120 years. I tried some of their polishes but always complained that the colors weren't very diverse. They finally started bringing out some fun shades starting in the summer of last year. So now they bring out small collections of 7 fun shades in the summer and autumn of every year. I received this year's autumn-winter collection at the last Beauty Bloggers Meeting Cluj and decided to swatch them all for you. This will be a massive post so grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy. I thought about breaking it into two posts but thought that having all the shades together would be better. So here we go!

Hello my lovelies! It seems that Monday is upon us again. But fear not cause I have some nail art to take your Monday Blues away. As promised, today I'm showing you the third and final way of achieving chevrons on your nails. After stencils and stamping, you can also have chevron nails by using these colorful water decals from the Born Pretty Store. Here's the look that I created using them.

Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate Holder Review

Hello my lovelies and happy Sunday! Just a quick post today to show you a handy little object that the lovely people from the Born Pretty Store sent for review. It's a stamping plate organizer that can hold up to 24 plates at once. You probably know that I have a large stamping plate collection and I'm always on the lookout for a may to store them. This type of holder is perfect both for storage and for carrying your plates around. It looks like this.

Born Pretty Store QA91 Stamping Plate Review

Hello my lovelies! I don't know if you noticed, but lately the nail art world has been taken over by chevrons. Everybody has been doing them and there are tons of ways to achieve the look. I've already shown how you can create them by using nail stencils, and in the following days I will show you two more ways to get them on your nails, all courtesy of the Born Pretty Store. If you are a fan of stamping, there is now a stamping plate with a chevron image on it. They were kind enough to send it my way and I created this manicure using it.

Mont Bleu Glass Nail File Review

Hello my lovelies! Today I have a very exciting review for you. I was recently contacted by a company that is very dear to me, namely Mont Bleu. They come from the Czech Republic and make the best glass nail files that I have ever tried. This company isn't new to me so I knew what to expect and couldn't wait to get the products. They sent me a couple of beautifully decorated nail files and also a pair of gorgeous earrings. But since this is a nail blog, let's look at the nail files first.

Trind Natural Nail Care Review

Hello my lovelies! Today I want to talk to you about nail care. For some of us, it's a boring subject while for others it's an obsession. Whether we like doing it or not, we all want strong beautiful nails and healthy cuticles. Over the last months I had the chance to test out a new to me nail care brand that is certainly familiar to many of you. The lovely people over at Rouge Boutique were kind enough to send a package with lots of Trind goodies. Trind Cosmetics is a Dutch brand that focuses on hand- and nail care, but also offers nail polish and manicure products. These are the goodies that I got to test out.

Born Pretty Store QA83 Stamping Plate Review

Hello my lovelies! As usual it's been a busy week for me and I haven't had a lot of time for blogging. I did however do a few nail art looks last Sunday so I have lots of stuff to show you. First up is an awesome stamping plate from the Born Pretty Store. I think you know by now that I love their plates, especially the ones from the QA series, so I try one every time they send me stuff for review. This particular plate has a bunch of full nail designs that are perfect for the stamping decal and the leadlight techniques, because they have lots of space for coloring and the possibilities are endless. I created my second leadlight stamping manicure with plate QA83* and here's how it turned out.

Monday Blues: Bronze and Blue

Hello my lovelies! I think this is the latest I've ever posted my Monday Blues post. It's been a crazy crazy Monday for me but all in all it was a good day. The manicure I'm showing you in this post is a pretty unusual one for me. The idea started from some pretty awesome studs that the Born Pretty Store kindly sent for review. I tried to match the design of the studs with a saran wrap manicure and this is what came out.
