Vintage Specialized Stumpjumper

And we're back. It's been a while right? Mostly because of Instagram and all that social media bollocks. Anyway here's a beautiful vintage Specialized Stumpjumper shot at the utterly fabulous Bicycle Museum Cycle Center in Sakai, Osaka.

Vintage GT MTB

A few quick phone shots of an almost perfect condition vintage GT full bouncer that was parked (unlocked!!) outside a local convenience store this week...

An XT/XTR drive...

And RockShox Judy's with White Ind. hubs on Mavic rims...

The owner was in the store, the bike was quite a way from the main road. It's Nara, it'll be fine.

Nobuhiko's Vintage Araya Muddy Fox

A few pictures of Nobuhiko's awesomely cool Araya Muddy Fox MTB. When we last shot this bike it was nighttime and the pictures were kinda shit. Earlier this week we finally got to shoot it in the daylight...

We say cool and coolest a lot here but this really is one of the coolest bikes we've seen. That original camo paintjob, the mix of old and new parts...

A Kashimax on a layback post bringing the old school BMX vibes...

That Nitto cockpit, the bosco style bars, the toploader BMX stem, that fucking Suntour stickshift!!!!

And the massive amounts of #basketlyfe vibes going on here just add to the overall levels of cool...

Thanks to the ever amazing Sayaca who helped me put a name to this wonderful bike.

Rene's Kuwahara Kikuichi MTB

Now this is rather special. A little backstory, a few years ago Takashi-san from Kuwahara got Rene at Giracha a Kikuichi 26" frame. Rene took his time building it up with a stunning selection of modern parts that kept an old school MTB aesthetic. Having been busy with work and family life, Rene didn't have much time to actually ride the bike. Recently Kenji-san from Ballooner & Crazy Sheep has been taking Rene out on the local trails. Last week the bike was at Giracha, obviously I took a ton a photos...

That Nitto cockpit...

TMG13 FLV saddle...

Race Face cranks and FLV pedals...

XTR drive...

And brakes...

Phil Wood hubs laced to H Plus rims...

An utterly stunning bike. Cheers to Rene and Sayaca for letting me shoot it.
