bubbles on her feet & toes
Layla decided she needed a pedicure this afternoon. We painted nails and toenails and she soaked her feet. I'm assuming you aren't supposed to put soap in the foot bath! LOL! Lily was eating the bubbles and Layla was so funny. She was throwing them all around the room. Bubbles are awesome! And so are fresh painted nails! :-)

she's as tall as Layla
Gary and I were trying to watch football, but these two girls decided to block our view. Lily is so big! I can't get over how big she is. She's the sweetest puppy ever and sincerely loved by our whole family!

Puppy power!
After having had two big dogs I didn't want to get another big dog to 'replace' them. We decided to get Daisy who tops out at 13 lbs. I think she is the best dog. She's a princess for sure!

Then we moved to Ohio and I decided we needed an 'Ohio' dog.
I'm so smitten with this black lab pup. She didn't replace Callaway or Harley, because she has an awesome personality of her own!
I love them both to the moon and back. And I love that these girls are besties!

she misses her people
Lily has been lonely since the kids have gone back to school. We live pretty close to the school and every morning she watches the car pool line. She sits on the stairs gazing out the window watching all the kids walk to school. It is the sweetest thing.
We sure do love our Lily pup!

Poor poor pitiful pup
We had to chase Lily all around the yard and hold her down to give her a bath. She was a stinky dirty dog and needed a bath, but she fought us tooth and nail. I love the pictures Gary captured of her little face. She looks just like she did when she was an itty bitty puppy. The top left picture is my favorite. She looks so pathetic. The bath was successful and she smells much better now!

Our little stick eaters
We are soaking up every moment with these two canines for the next few days. We are leaving for a quick trip and they can't come with us. We will miss them so much!
Our dogs are such a big part of our family!
I know they will be just fine on their vacation, but I always feel guilty leaving them!

Getting 'fixed'
Lily is at the veterinary office today getting spayed. I know it is a very routine procedure, but I always worry anyway. She will be just fine, but I'm a momma and I worry about my kids and pets all the time.
She is such a puppy ... full of energy! How will I ever keep her mellow and calm to let herself heal this next week or two? It will be a fun task!

puppy love
This little pup is not so little anymore. She is a sweetie, but she is a piggy.
When she isn't playing or running in the yard she is laying beside her food bowl.
She wants to eat all day long.
Lily is having surgery on Monday. We adopted her from the animal shelter and part of our agreement was to have her spayed. It is time for that procedure. It makes me sad, but it is better than her having puppies. Gary and I decided to go ahead and get it done before we move into our new house.
It took me sweet forever to get this picture of these two clowns.
They were in treat heaven! Oh how I love my fur babies.
I hope they enjoy our big new yard as much as I think they will. I can hardly wait to watch them run and jump and play. I just know they will get some wonderful naps out on our covered patio!

Daisy Mae is 2 !!
Our precious little pup turns 2 years old today!
She is the best little girl!
She is a camping dog, a lap dog and a barking dog. Lately she barks non-stop at our neighbors. Our houses are very close together and I don't think she like that!
She loves to lay outside in the sun. She loves to chew on bones in the grass!
She loves getting pretty at the groomer. I think she likes being pampered like a puppy princess!
We are so thankful for both of our pups. Daisy out dainty little lady. If Layla had it her way we would invite a group if other over for a puppy party today. We sure do love celebrating birthdays around here!

Lily Jack
I can't believe it has been over a month since we brought Lily home. She is just as snugly and sweet today as she was when we got her. I'm so thankful for her sweet little personality and loving heart. She is so gentle and kind with the kids.
She went to the vet last week. I think the doctor kinda liked her! Lily was showing off her skills and listened and sat down on command. She is such a people pleaser! She is about 3 1/2 months old and weighs 14.6 pounds. It is so weird to carry her and then carry Daisy. Lily is stout and thick. Daisy is a little dainty princess. I can't wait to see how big Lily gets, but the vet seemed to think she'd be a smaller sized lab. Only time will tell!
Lily is really learning her place in our home. When we leave the house during the day she goes right into her crate when we say "cage up." She sleeps every night in one of the dog beds on the floor in our bedroom. We decided not to crate her at night and she is adjusting well to sleeping in our room. She needed outside many times a night in the first few weeks, but now she is doing much better. She will use a potty pad that lays on the floor at night if she has to go really bad. Usually she will whine when she needs out. All in all she is doing great in the potty department. She will sit by the backdoor or whine if she needs out. She hasn't destroyed anything in our house. She plays with her toys and loves to chew on bones, but so far the only thing she chewed up was my laptop cord. Hopefully we can keep our things out of her sight so she doesn't get tempted.
Lily loves this rug in the kitchen. She is always laying there and knows we spend a ton of time in the kitchen. Sometimes she is in the way, so I'll just move her around on the rug. ha! Layla picked out her leopard print and pink collar at Old Navy. It fits her personality perfectly!
One weekend morning all 6 of us were piled in our bed. It was full of kids and dogs and tons of giggles. I love how the pups are about the same size in the picture above, but soon Lily will tower over Daisy. They are best buds. It took Daisy awhile to really warm up to Lily. Daisy didn't even want Lily to touch her, but now they wrestle and play fight all the time. When they play it sounds terrible, like dogs are fighting and tearing their ears off, but they are just having fun.
We have a few patches of grass in the backyard and they love to tumble around back there. As you know I am not the biggest fan of our house, but I love the fenced backyard. I can leave them outside to play on nice days with no worries! It seems like most yards with lots of room to roam don't have fences.
We're trying to take Lily for walks as much as possible to get her adjusted to a leash. I didn't do this with Daisy and now we need to leash train them both. Lily is catching on and doesn't pull too bad. One morning I decided to walk them both and sheesh, it was wild. We have some work to do in this department!
Lily seems to catch on to simple commands and now she knows to sit if she wants our attention. She will burn holes in us with her eyes when she just gazes at us. We have been working on 'sit' and 'shake' and I really want to teach her to be gentle as she gets bigger. I don't want the kids friends to be afraid of her. I know kids get scared when a dog jumps up on them, and Callaway was so bad about jumping on our house guests. Hopefully we can tame her from jumping when she's excited. I know consistency in training will pay off!
These pictures really show off her black coat, but sometimes in the sunlight she looks really brown. She has the neatest coloring. We love those white paws and the tip of her tail is white paint dipped!
It is safe to say this little stinker has stolen our hearts! She is such a fun little pup and we are thrilled to call her ours. We have all been watching too much Duck Dynasty and we gave her the middle name of Jack. Lily Jack. Daisy Mae and Lily Jack. It has a nice ring to it huh? Hopefully Lily Jack likes camping, because as soon as the weather gets warmer we will introduce her to our favorite activity! We know she loves water, so she will fit right in with our adventurous clan.

we love our new puppy
This little girl has captured the hearts of every member of our family. She is so full of energy and she is very very funny. Lily is so soft and fluffy. She is a talker. She squeaks and barks and whines. We all love her little voice. She loves to lay on her back and take naps. It is the cutest thing. Daisy and Lily are slowly becoming best girl friends. They love to wrestle and play chase. I think our whole family is so happy with our new puppy and we can't wait to learn more about her every day!

a new baby puppy
We have been busy the last two days welcoming this little munchkin into our family.
The kids are both smitten!
Layla is loving being a mommy to our new lab-mix puppy.
We still don't have a name picked out ..... yet. Hopefully we will come up with a fun name for our little girly. I took all these pictures with my phone and I am looking forward to getting some better pictures of her with my camera! Get ready for picture overload!
