11 years old today

At 1:02 pm Hayden turned 11!

We celebrated with lunch at George's.  His favorite meal is their chicken fried steak.  He didn't want a breakfast cupcake this year, as we typically do each year, so I put candles in his steak!

Hayden asked for a cross necklace for his birthday, so we visited James Avery and he picked out a necklace.  It looks so good on him.  He did a great job picking it out!

Happy Birthday handsome guy!

He is 10!

I can't believe this little man is 10 today.  Y'all, he really is a little man.  He's kind and polite and constantly puts others before himself.

He's obsessed with golf and golf attire.  He even purchased his own set of Oakley sunglasses with his own money.

He loves Shark week and so he requested his Netsie, make him a shark cake.

The shark cake is perfect and even included shark teeth.  Thank you Netsie for your hard work!

Happy Double Digits to my favorite little man!!!!

his first golf tournament

HC played in the Starburst tornament for the first time.  Oh his face just says it all!

I'm so happy Gary was able to take 3 mornings off work to be Hayden's caddie.  They are so  handsome and both just love the game.

They even took a few selfies for even though I was there every step of the tournament.

We all walked well over 10,000 steps each day of the three day event.  Actuallyyyyy Layla and I got a cart the last day, but walked a million miles the two days before.  It was fun to walk, but also fun to ride on the last day of the tournament.

Here we go on the last day.

I love being a golf mom!  I have to thank Layla too for getting up early to support her brother!  She was up early walking with me and sweating like crazy to watch him play.

I'm thinking the golfer is getting onto the caddie a bit in this picture.  It was pretty hot the last day and tensions were high!

Two of the three days Hayden played with these two guys.  It's so fun to meet new friends on the course.

They had a fun time and I'm so glad that even though Hayden didn't get the scored he'd hoped for it was an amazing experience.  He knows he must work on his putting game before the next tournament.  He was on the green on almost every hole with two shots.  His putting game slowed him down.  He shot 57/58/57.  It don't think that is bad for his first tournament at age 9.  He's consistent!

This is the last selfie the guys took.  They were laughing so hard because like myself, sometimes when we take selfies we press the wrong button on the phone and turn the phone off.  Gary had done this several times and it was just so funny.

handsome boy!

Look at what I found in Hayden's backpack!  Oh it is just the sweetest thing.  I remember one of these pictures from Kindergarten and now 4th grade.  Goodness I almost can't believe the elementary school days are over in our house.   One more month of school and then we celebrate summer!

wizzard

H.C. found this lizard at C.C. and Brandy's house.  It's a cute little lizard and it's skin changes color so fast!  We've seen brown, black and mostly green.

It seriously loves him.  It's the craziest thing.  We told him he could bring it home, so he did.

He made a little habitat out of a shoebox and the silly lizard was still there when we woke up.
His little buddy will be sticking around out in our backyard.  He's welcome as long as he wants to stay.  He loves eating those giant bugs that look like mosquitos, but aren't.  Soooo....I'd love for the lizard to stay!

golf lover

We see him climbing the fence and leaving the gate open to chase after stray golf balls.

We see him every single morning sporting a 'polo' shirt, because that is what golfers wear.

We see him hitting the snot out of the ball as it launches up high in the sky.

We see his smile when his golf coach tells him how awesome he is doing.

We see the want to learn in his eyes and we are proud of his hard work!!!!

student of the month!

We are so thrilled that this guy is student of the month!

Gary and I tried to sneak into the gym so he wouldn't be suspicious, but he saw us and then I felt like he knew he was chosen.

It was also pajama day!  He was so comfy!

We are two proud parents!!

He didn’t even flinch as she administered the shots, yes shots...one in each arm.  He’s awesome!

soaking the itchies away

Hayden is enjoying a Sunday evening soak.  He's soaking away the rough patches of dry, red and flaky skin that makes him itchy every single day.

I think he may be my hero right now.  Every single day for the past year he has struggled with allergies.  Allergies for him don't cause him the sniffles or coughing.  His allergies come out through his skin.  It's a daily battle and Gary and I feel like someday all he will remember is us staying, "Stop scratching, put on some lotion."  He is amazing.  He takes it all in stride.  He knows his triggers, grass, trees and dust.  He asks to stay in a recess if the school lawn guys are mowing.  He's just such a good boy and not only do we pray for him every day, he prays for himself.  He is a prayer and he knows this is a season.  Eczema isn't forever.  It is a chapter in his life and he will outgrow it some day and until then we will fight and stay away from his triggers.

And baths are the plus!  After much fear, I talked him into a bath and he enjoys soothing in the water.  Finally!

Happy 9th birthday little man

This silly man turned 9 today, but he turned his birthday breakfast cake candle upside down.  He is such a silly prankster!

Hayden decided he wanted Georges for his birthday dinner, so tonight we celebrate him at a fun eating spot of his choice.

Hayden chose yellow cake with chocolate icing for his birthday cake this year, but he saw a pecan cake mix in the pantry and we went with that.  It was mighty tasty!

I'm praying in this guys 9th year he will clear up from the eczema he's been fighting for so long.  I know moving to a nice new home will help him so much!  We love you HC!

Last day of school!!!

I can't believe it is the last day of school for these two!

I'm thrilled for them.  They have worked so hard this year.  They have been super busy with soccer and volley ball.  We had activities every night for weeks and weeks and they did great!

Hayden has one more year in elementary school.  He will finish out 4th grade next year.  I'm so excited for him!

Layla is moving up to middle school.  She's our 7th grader!

Goodness I just love my cuties!

I survived my first year as a working mom.  I managed to find a way to keep us all fed and alive.  We all had clean laundry and a somewhat clean house!  It was a wonderful year for me and I wouldn't trade it for anything.  I'm thrilled I decided to go back to work!

We are so ready to dive into summer!!
