We have a beautiful blue sky today in Utah—which is wonderful relief from the non-stop snowstorms of the weekend. The result? Crystal blue skies contrasting with the brilliant white of the sparkling snow covering the mountains, my yard, everywhere! Today’s Color Me Monday celebrates that beautiful wintry mix of brilliant blues with white: I’ve used Twilight, Crystal Blue, White Daisy, and just a touch of Grey Flannel for a seasonal look that will have you eager to run out and build a snowman.
For my layout, I’ve used four of my favorite vintage family photos, printing them in black and white. Black and white photos are absolutely perfect for this color combination, don’t you agree? The color scheme is also a lovely change from the classic red-and-green for cards: it’s perfect for Hanukkah cards, or any project featuring snowflakes. And yes, if you just love working with your “reds” this time of year, try dressing up a festive treat with just a touch of Crystal Blue—yummy cinnamon bears or a peppermint spice things up perfectly. So jump in a snowdrift of color yourself with this fabulous and frosty tribute to the “winter blues.” It will have you feeling warm all over.
