Spent 2 weeks in Yellowstone and never saw a bear (except for the Alaska bears at the Zoo in West Yellowstone). Nice shot, glad to see someone else was able to find them. Great focus especially via the spotting scope. Did the N70 allow you to meter through the scope (my Nikon N80 will not) or did you have to figure it out and/or bracket?
Do you remember where in Yellowstone you were for this photo?

A very good photo! Could perhaps have little bit more sharpness on the face, and a bit deeper colours, but it's really a wonderful shot!

I can't understand why this has so few comments. Wonderful capture, showing this bear in it's natural habitat. Nice use of DOF, I love the mystery of the fading river in the background.
