Hi Gayle,

very fitting for the poetry in pictures project. maybe overall a bit weak in terms of detailm but nevertheless a perfect crop and a perfect weathered scenery.

best wishes,
Thilo

This has so much to say ..really it is poetry. Like the grainy/old look to this...not quite sure what you call it...wonderful composition and tones. Adding the leaves was a nice touch.

Thanks,Eb! graphic print is exactly what i thought and liked about the look after my contrast tweaks and you were the only one thus far to recognize that...

Looks like a graphic print! Artistically rendered with the leaves providing a lead into the composition.

Dig it, it scares me (but not as much as watching the new DVD "Why We Fight").....very artistic, makes me think of - "We live in a Political World/courage is a thing of the past/houses are haunted/children aren't wanted/the next day could be your last..." Bobby D. Yeah, has that thing.....

Awesome and creative image here Gayle . . . Very well seen! Oak and Maple leaves at the bottom really do accent the thing. Clearly meant for B&W . . . this could never have the same effect were it in color. Nice work!
PS: A little Duct tape and the window will be good as new!!
:)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Oh, thanks, Gayle!

I think those three leaves are so important in achieving 'the look'!

A great idea, culminating in a lovely image!

Cheers

Brat, appreciate the feedback and agree that the added 3 bottom leaves lends a more poetic look and enhances the simple shot ;>

Phil, correction regarding leaves you asked about...the bottom 3 were added, but all branches with leaves are original to shot...was remembering original shot when you asked ;>
(that info now included in my about)

Whether it's a composite into the original image or not, I don't care...but the leaves at the bottom of the window just leap out at me, because they have a smoother tone than the grainy, deteriorating windowframe.

This is the sort of vision that is BORN for B&W.
Great job, Gayle!

Hello Ms Hardman. I was curious to wonder how this image looked before the tweek?

Ahh, windows. Nicely captured with the leaves, adding a touch to alleviate the "boredom. I love shooting old windows and doors but not everything is photogenic. With the leaves, you've broguht it back to life.

I would like to see this shot in a crisp and clear presentation, in black and white. I don't care for the heavy contrast here. But that's just my opinion and without seeing it in crisp format. Another alternative might be to leave the leaves colored with the window in B&W.

You do some great things in post work Gayle. Love the feel of this one, the contrast does wonders for the tones. Random falling leaves are a nice addition too.

Isn't it time you called a repairman though? hehehe... Cheers babe, R.

A lovely image, Gayle! Great comp - by the look of it, it's past being suitable for renovation???? LOL. Wonderful tones. Were the leaves there, or did you add them? They add to the character! A nice conversion! Well done!

Cheers
