Wonderful shot! What a fun concept too! I think it completely silly that you have gotten any guff at all about your model selection. I actually think it rather odd that someone would offer up that less than creative criticism about something they don’t understand. Whether you had constraints you had to work within or not, it’s your prerogative to shoot what you see fit.
*sigh* I guess it’s not art if you don’t at least ruffle a few feathers.
I like the tones and framing. It reminds me of mug shots. Maybe ones taken in an episode of the Avengers (w/ Emma Peel of course). Very candid and personal. I think you nailed it!
Keep it up, you’re doing great! -d

Oh, and I can see now why you enjoyed the picture that you commented on of mine, the girl brushing her teeth (Fake Bake Fueneral) It seems to closely match your style, I like you style a lot, I am looking to emulate something closer to this in my own work. -Tim

Reading some of the other comments on this peice, I think people shouldn't take it so seriously, it's your title and your photos, I wouldn't compromise anything. :-)

Amazing, lov he four next to eachohter, they seem to explain one another in a way that would be impossible to see each person on their own. The girl on the far right seems to be most captivating, she doesn't look real, they all look somewhat like charicatures. Very cool stuff. -Tim

Brilliant representation of a British family!
Of course other races make up the British social environment, but this is not to say one has to include them in every photograph of what makes Britain 'great'. But it is non-sensical to suggest that because there is no 'Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Iranian, Vietnamies, Nigerian, Ghanaian' or any other races in the image that it is non-British, or that it is attacking those races.
I think this is more of a self portrait of the family life you have grown up a part of, and as such, works amazingly.
Congratulations!

Thank you for clarifying to me. I guess I am going to change the title in order not to offend the other races in British Isle. you could use the following title: 1)Best of British from the point of Fuji Competition, or 2)Fuji Competition, or 3)My family in 1960's style and many more title like this.

These are good representatives of the best of british from my research into the brief. like i said in my comment, its a family thing, the second from the left is even a self portrait. i was exploring my own personal herritage and by looking at what british people traditionally hang on their wall, ie kitch family portraits, and i don't have any other races in my family. i was exploring my family and putting them in a more 'traditional'kind of 1960s setting, in the style of thing that have been adorning my grandparents wall for decades...that was the idea. and i do apologise if the title offended you in any way, but its simply the title given for the current fuji competition. also, the fact is that as well as many other races represented in britain, there are white-irish people too, these people are still british. Thank you for your comments, and i appreciate you bringing my attention to how this could be viewed, but i do think my comment on line explains this. Please contact me with your views on what ive said, and if i have sufficiently answered your questions. Thanks Claire
