Next month’s STAR WARS: DARTH VADER #50 will have a special backup story by series writer Greg Pak and frequent series artist Luke Ross that explores the possibility of Princess Leia joining the dark side! Fans can get a glimpse at the story now in an all-new variant cover by best-selling cover artist Derrick Chew. Sweet Suite 2015: Build-A-Bear Takes on Star Wars, Minions & More
When is the last time you went to Build-A-Bear Workshop at your nearest mall? For me, it was when I was dating this awesome girl who's birthday was coming up. We made a monkey and put him in a pinstripe suit with matching top hat and cane..and called him Benny. If you get the reference, I love you. Since then, BAB has been adding many licensed characters to its adorbale plush lineup. A quick run through their website and I found Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon, all 4 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a small herd of My Little Ponies and even Frosty the Snowman from the old holiday cartoon. At Sweet Suite, we got a glimpse of their latest additions...
STAR WARS!! Chewbacca and Darth Vader kick off Build-A-Bear's customizable plush offerings from a galaxy far, far away (cuz the mall is never close). Both include a sound chip for effects from each character and Vader comes with his Lightsaber that lights up. Light up plush confuses me...and I don't know why. These new squeezables will be available this week, so be on the lookout.

SDCC 2014: Hot Wheels Scales Up Their SDCC Exclusive Darth Vader Corvette
Those attending San Diego Comic-Con 2014 will get to drink in the mind-numbing insanity that is a SDCC Exclusive Hot Wheels Car scaled up to life size, packing 526 Horsepower under the hood. A new license to make Star Wars Hot Wheels Cars was probably the only reason Mattel needed to go crazy and make geeks heads explode all over the convention floor. LOOK AT THIS IMPROBABLE THING!!!

Toy Fair 2012: Star Wars Air Hedz
INNOVATION!! It's what separates the hum drum average toy maker from the likes of McFarlane Toys who make a zombie figure you can tear apart and re-assemble! BLUW is one such company who like to put a little extra zazz in their plastic with products including wind up grannies battling wind up Daleks...and Air Hedz, the inflatable costume hat!!
We are deadly serious.
Blow up your own piece of super-sized fun! Air Hedz's giant inflatables are the super-sized way for kids to dress up. Each set comes with a giant piece of headgear and accessory. Take your pick from a range that includes a cowboy, pirate, nurse and fairy princess. Just blow them up and put them on - they're a gigantic load of fun!
Their creations include a Cowboy with a gun, Robot with a blaster, Pirate with a sword, Alien with alien hands and Fireman with an axe. This is one company that knows adults (or closest approximation) want to get in on the fun, so they've got a Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Skeleton and Axe to the Head sets as well!
Now BLUW joins in on the Star Wars celebration with blow up Lucas creations you'll be sporting at San Diego Comic Con this year fo sho. The lineup includes Darth Vader Inflatable Head & Armor, Clone Trooper Inflatable Head & Blaster & Yoda Inflatable Head & Cane.
AMAZING. Bluw is also cranking out some Transformers and Ben 10 Air Hedz, so keep watch for those if you're a fan! More Toy Fair news coming soon..same bat time..same bat channel.

Quick Star Wars Burgers Inject You With The Force
Force you to do what...I could not say. I've never had a Quick burger so I won't make any bowel movement jokes today.
From across the great waters comes the most awesome merchandising tie in since Hello Kitty lent her face to a vibrator. It's STAR WARS BURGERS!!! French website MintInBox got the scoop on these force infused sandwiches, but not much info. It seems this February, to coincide with the release of The Phantom Menace in 3D, Quick will release three burgers.. The Dark Burger (red), the Jedi Burger (green), and the Dark Vader Burger (black).
February 10th is the set date for The Phantom Menace to drop on theaters in 3D, so I'd expect a flurry of product tie ins to start...right about...meow.

Gentle Giant's SDCC Exclusives
Its 2 weeks to San Diego Comic Con and the exclusives news is still rolling out along with the panel news..the interviews ops..the party invites..the flight info..~pulls himself into a fetal position~
ANYWAY!! Today, we'll show you Gentle Giant's goodies...
STAR WARS
Darth Vader (McQuarrie concept) Mini Bust: Following the 2009, sold out Boba Fett concept mini-bust is the new original concept art Darth Vader, based on the drawings of Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston. McQuarrie is often credited with developing the look and feel of the Star Wars trilogy. McQuarrie and Johnston worked side by side to develop this version of the evil overlord. Though it is uniquely different than the final film version; the piece still holds true to the final feel of Vader's timeless helmet and black armor. McQuarrie Vader features 3 different interchangeable heads. $75 - limited to 1k pieces
12 Inch Vintage Kenner Jumbo Stormtrooper: Just like they were when you were a kid, only BIGGER! Gentle Giant is proud to debut their new line of vintage Star Wars Action figure reproductions with the release of this classic Empire Strikes Back Stormtrooper. Digitally scanned from mint 3 ¾" Kenner originals and reproduced to a substantial 12" tall. Nothing has been overlooked. Injection molded and made of durable plastics, this jumbo figure includes a faithfully reproduced blaster and is fully articulated! That's not all, this classic Kenner creation comes packaged on a 1980, Empire Strikes Back inspired blister card with a plastic outer clam shell to help protect and display this limited edition convention exclusive! $85 - limited to 1,500 pieces
HARRY POTTER
Lucius Malfoy Prisoner Mini Bust: The prisoner of Azkaban! Lucius Malfoy, the "pure-blood" wizard, and the father of Draco Malfoy. Imprisoned for his crimes as an evil Death Eater, Lucious spent little time behind bars and escaped the prison to once again fight at Voldermorts side. This limited edition mini bust is crafted in high quality poly-stone and features real metal chains and shackles. A fine Harry Potter collectible that is individually numbered with matching certificate of authenticity. $65 - limited to 550 pieces
PAN'S LABYRINTH
Pale Man Mini Bust: The Pale Man; who gorged on excess was banished to a den in the netherworld. Unable to feast on the banquet before him, his body shriveled and his humanity withered away. His only sustenance was the blood of innocents. A meal he relished in hunting himself. He kept a watchful eye over a dagger with a hilt of gold, for he feared it to be the only object that could cause him harm. In truth it's presence kept him alive. Once the blade was removed, he collapsed unto himself and faded from existence. 8 inches tall. $70 - limited to 500 pieces
Pan (Faun) Mini Bust: The Faun was ordered to open the portals throughout the mortal world, including a forest in Spain, one that has stood for thousands of years. It was there that the Faun took root, patiently awaiting the Princess's return. $70 - limited to 500 pieces
Have your mini busts autographed by Guillermo del Toro and Doug Jones at the Gentle Giant booth (3513) on Saturday, July 24th between 2 pm and 4 pm. These mini busts available for purchase from Wednesday (Preview Night), July 21st through Saturday, July 24th.

Packaging and Descriptions for Star Wars Monster Mash-Ups
I swear it wasn't called Monster Mash-Up before, so that's news to me! Retailers received new images of the upcoming vinyl bobble line from Funko that takes your favorite Star Wars characters and transforms them into hideous creatures from a galaxy called HELL!!!
What's funny is the Mash-Up title is a very interesting way to alter public perception from this line being about Star Wars characters turning into monsters to it being an artist interpretation of a Star Wars character combined with an iconic monster from movies and literature. SPINNY!!
So we've got Yoda and a Gargoyle, Stormtrooper and a Skeleton, Darth Vader and Frankenstein and Chewbacca and a Werewolf...which create Yogoyle, Skeletrooper, Vadenstein and Werebacca! OK I made those names up, but I'll let them use em' if they ask me nice...and send me some. Look for Funko's Star Wars Monster Mash-Ups this September.
And now...My votes for upcoming releases...
Greedo and a Zombie (with the blast hole in his chest so you can see clear through)
Leia and the Bride of Frankenstein (which makes it incestuous...so double the horror)
Porkins and the Hunchback (just for the sake of comedy)
Han Solo and Dracula (cuz he gets the ladies)
Luke Skywalker and a Giant Bat Creature (to turn bunny teeth into bat fangs, of course!)
Darth Maul and The Mummy (trade the saber for a staff)
Grievous and The Fly (make use of those extra arms!)
R2D2 and The Blob (little transparent pink killer robot!!)
C3PO and The Creature from the Black Lagoon (just thinking about what the end design could look like makes me smile)
Who do you want mashed up??
