How to make it

  • Beat together the first 6 ingredients until blended.
  • Combine and add the remaining ingredients.
  • Stir until dry ingredients are just moistened.
  • Do not overmix.
  • Place batter into a 9 x 5 x 3 greased loaf pan and bake in a 350 degree oven.
  • Bake for 50-55 minutes.
  • Allow to cool for about 30 minutes.
  • Mix the ingredients for the sour cream glaze and then frost the bread.

    **I made this again with HALF the baking soda and baking powder, and it is so much better! It's just incredible, so much more flavour, moisture and tenderness. So make sure to cut the baking powder and soda to 1/2 a tsp each! 5 stars now! *****
    I also added a pinch of nutmeg and cloves. It goes so well with the orange flavour and I'll make it that way for now on. :)

    I highly recommend using less baking soda. Start with half, and maybe even down to 1/4 tsp.
    However the loaf still tasted good, and the sour cream glaze is awesome!
