Ingredients

How to make it

  • Put the eggs in the pot and cover them with cold water.
  • Cover the pot.
  • Turn on heat to high and bring the water to a boil.
  • After a rolling boil, turn off the heat and leave the pot covered for 10 minutes.
  • After the 11 minutes, remove the cover and run cold water over the eggs until the eggs are cold.
  • Eggs should be very easy to peel and shouldn’t have a green ring.
  • Enjoy

Very good result. It is a lot less tedious than my posted boiled egg recipe.

Normally the yoke absorbs the moisture out of your mouth, but not this egg!!! The yoke is cooked thoroughly yet it is soft and fluffy!! Truly The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg :-)

I cannot figure out how to get the band out of the middle, so it hides part of the recipe...

Donman.. Good morning. I make egg salad once a week (it's what my husband eats for first break at work) he loves it. I always tell him that I will fix him breakfast but he does not like to eat at 4:30 A.M. This is what he takes to work plus a glass of O.J. Anyway back to the hard eggs. I can never peel the little suckers. They fall apart, then I say what the heck they just go into my salad shooter anyway, But then there are times when I want to make deviled eggs and that is what I call Not Pretty. So thanks for the tip. I will have to print this one out to always have it on hand. You got my five for this one.

I do mine this way but I put table salt in the water. They peel better. Fantastic post!

Good info. The easy way to peel them is:
Pour most of the water out of the pan
Bounce eggs in pan until shell is cracked all over.
Start peeling on the end where the air bubble is
When you are peeling make sure to peel the membrane between the egg and the shell with the shell
It will peel right off with out tearing egg white

Martha Stewart's method is very similar and you are right, it's perfect every time.
